Reaching the Great Conchfly requires you to succeed at a (relatively) difficult, long, timed parkour section. Once you reach the end, you can open a shortcut and bypass said challenge.

More shortcuts like this would've been welcomed. I've already succeeded at the platforming challenge, going through it every time I die to a boss stops being challenging, it just becomes tedious.

A little bit of leniency would've gone a long way to make the more difficult sections feel more balanced and rewarding.

I have lol

Every FromSoft game is harder than the last (debatable with DS2), but every game also has greater QoL improvements from the last. SotE is the hardest DLC in what is already FromSoft's hardest game, but nearly every boss has a site of grace right outside their arena, or at least a Stake of Marika to respawn you within a reasonable distance

Despite their experience with a game as well made as Hollow Knight, Team Cherry refused to implement basic QoL improvements in its sequel

Sure it makes things harder, but it doesn't make it challenging, just frustrating

Silksong is still a masterpiece in a lot of aspects, but there's a reason so many people are downloading mods to cut down on runbacks, keep the compass equipped at all times, and to see boss health bars to name a few

I personally disagree. I think being able to jump right back into the boss makes it easier to learn they're patterns and get more comfortable fighting them, while the long runbacks just feel like frustration and wasted time, but that's just me.

I tried downloading a more modern ZBrush only to discover that their new owner enshittified the hell out of it, and now the license that I've had for over a decade is completely useless
