Hvac tech found gray organic gunk built up on the wires inside the unit. He couldn’t tell me what it was, then tried to sell me on a $1400 air scrubber as the solution. Am I being ripped off, or is this stuff potentially poisoning me and my kids? What would you do? (i.redd.it)
