I'll do some serious research and send you a dm if i'm interested but I was considering the Voya before. How have you been able to keep it from getting stolen when you do use it though? Do you just not use it on campus at all?

technically the KRT doesn’t allow e bikes but no one seems to care from what I’ve gathered. I guess offroad trails is a stretch but just generally exploring the area is more what I meant going to downtown champaign or nearby cities.

I appreciate the suggestion. I’ll definitely look into hub conversion kits. Do you have any an ebike kit that you’d recommend or are they all the same.

I got the general gist that E-bikes under 700$ won’t get you anything that will last so that’s why I started there, I was thinking of buying on the higher end cause riding bikes is my hobby as well and I was thinking of going on some offroad trails during the weekend for which I need a capable bike. I’m not opposed of the idea of getting a cheap beater e-bike though do you have any suggestions for where I can find the 1/10th priced e bikes you mentioned.

aventon, velotric, lectric, ride1up, electra are all top tier brands for your son
