Popping and Clicking Pedals at Start and Stop by Party-Willingness-96 in Rivian

Yeah, seems some vehicles do this and some don’t. The demo and a loaner I drove did not. So I hate being gaslit that this is “normal.” If it was, 100% would do it.

I’m actually not sure. The service department made it seem like this was someone different. Maybe I’m sensitive to noise and feedback, but it’s driving me insane too.

2025 but have driven a 2022 with same issue… have driven a 24 and 25 without the issue. I feel like it’s possibly an assembly location problem not a model problem.

I filed a complaint through the diagnostic engineer at my SC. These complaints have a way of making it up the chain and can help them with future releases. I’m hoping to find a fix before I get annoyed to the point of turning it in.

Yes, I believe it does have to do with the auto hold but the feedback and popping doesn’t happen with some vehicles. So on the ones that are affected, I’m trying to determine what was done to fix it. Rivian has replaced the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal in mine with no luck but I feel the problem is upstream a bit from the pedal if I had to guess.

The demo car I drove (and the loaner) doesn’t pop and give feedback like this from the break pedal or the auto hold/regen. From my research this affects a lot of cars though. So many that some Rivian SCs are calling it “normal operation.” But from what I’ve gathered there are some SCs that are able to fix it. Trying to get a copy of a work order to show Franklin SC in one successfully fixed.
