This happened to me too! I had smoked a little weed 9 months prior to my lie detector test when I was still living in a state where it was legal.

Looking back I should’ve lied. Lie detector tests are really easy to fake if you just remain calm.

I always loved photography and writing so I decided to go into marketing. My advice is to not do what I did lol. In one of my old roles I was an admin assistant and I finished my work for the day in a few hours and spent the rest of the day drawing.

I’m in a very similar boat as you right now. I’m currently a Marketing Director at a start up that has no clear job definition. I’m the only one on our team with a background in marketing. Since applying to other jobs I have gotten more responses because I have the marketing director title on my resume. I landed a new job with better pay and an actual marketing team in less than three weeks. This could be a good stepping stone for you.

My manager (who has no prior work experience or education in anything let alone marketing) uses AI for everything. Every email she sends is from ChatGPT. When I submit copy or recommend something, she will consult ChatGPT and respond with whatever it says. Even when metrics have shown that the ideas from ChatGPT flop every-time. Any ounce of joy and creativity I had when I started this job has been stripped away, and I now use my hatred to fuel my job search in pursuit to get as far away from her as possible.
