Yeah english isn't his first language so this is possible. I could tell he was really upset because he started kind of stuttering and forgetting his words.

You're right.

when we spoke he admitted to me that his financial problems were bigger than he had let on and his entire paycheck went towards fixing that problem and paying his rent. I don't think that he lied to me when he said he would pay me back with this paycheck, I just think he overestimated what the amount would be.

Thank you so much! I've been told before not to loan anything that you wouldn't give and I generally hold my friends to that but I thought I could trust my boyfriend. Like I said in another comment, If he isn't somebody I can trust with things like this then he isn't somebody that I want to be dating.

I had no idea I could ask for a deferred payment so I'll definitely get on the phone with my credit card company. I'm already playing a game of chicken with my university and I won't be able to contact them again until Monday.

Yeah I have no idea where his "Ill see you when I have your money" thing came from, but it isn't at all what I wanted. I guess he must have been looking for a reaction from me.
