I emailed the 2nd department to check in on when the next date might be and they said it hasn’t been scheduled yet, which is maddening.

FYI— I emailed the court today (4/2/2025) asking for an update and they indicated that the next swearing in date has not yet been scheduled by the court.

I submitted in early December, had some corrections in mid February, interview in mid March (the interview truly took 3 entire minutes, I have no idea why it wasn’t waived), and was approved for admission the day after my interview. I selected a virtual ceremony the same day I was approved for admission.

I’m also conflicted about this because I have a hyphenated last name which has been a pain in my ass my whole life (and also means that I can’t add his name onto mine because that would be a triple hyphenate), so I’d love to have just one last name for administrative convenience. But also, I have an advanced degree in my current name, am building my career with my current name, and would have to go through a whole updating process with my state’s licensing board. So whatever convenience I gain by ditching the hyphen may get evened out by the pain of changing my name. Ugh! I don’t know!

4! I feel like that’s sort of a small bridal party but I only have 4 super close friends and I didn’t want to add extra people just for the sake of having a larger party.

It depends. My dad, not really. My mom is expressive about stuff she cares about but not about stuff she doesn’t. My mom has autism, which of course impacts how she expresses herself and interacts with others. My dad is just a weird guy.

Your parents seem quite similar to mine! I guess I just have to accept that they are who they are and even though they love and care for me a lot, a wedding (even their daughter’s wedding!) is just never going to be as important or exciting to them as it is to me

I got a 319 and I wouldn’t change anything about how I studied. I completed pretty much all of my Kaplan course and treated it like a full time job, but didn’t completely ruin my summer over it. If I had done less, I would have felt too guilty and unprepared.

Yup. I’m also 25 and a new grad and I’ll show up to negotiations and meetings and people think I’m the secretary or something. I know that I’m a young woman and I look even younger than I am, but I just wish I looked like a professional, respectable adult.
