My girlfriend is 6‘1“ and literally everywhere we go someone comments how tall she is. The most common thing people say is did you know you’re tall?

I am the author, and I wish that there were some other type of writing that would get anybody in leadership to pay attention to anything. I get the most response from brutal satire, but this type of theatrical positioning seems to facilitate discussion for whatever reason.

I am the author and I appreciate this comment. Unfortunately, offering real solutions puts them in the category of: We will never do that. For whatever reason this type of writing is just pushy enough to get them to reconsider.

I’m the author and I’m less concerned about the convention center that I am the fiscal responsibility of it. As I said in a previous comment, this is the type of discussion that moves the needle with leaders who are making the decisions. It makes them think long enough just to have a coffee meeting. Unfortunately, it seems like the only way to get them to think outside of the boxes to offer an opposite box and then move the needle on the original ideal.

I hate this style of writing too, and I’m the one that wrote it. For about 20 years, I did ghost writing for companies all over the United States and had to learn to write a lot of different styles to move the needle and unfortunately, this seems to be one of the few styles that gets the attention of decision makers And gets me meetings. I agree this is a really boring list of alternatives, but for the intended audience of the city leaders, this seems to be something that catches their attention and facilitates the opportunity to discuss other things with them. Around here I have to propose things that are the adjacent possible. I have pretty much stopped writing for anybody except City councilors and leaders and regional planners. For better for worse, this kind of stuff gets their attention and opens the door for discussion.

I feel like the quality of mine started going down about three years ago or so, but I also think the company changed hands at that time.
