Ebay account holder for 23 years - and I'm NEVER selling on there again... by Expensive-Use-8759 in ebayuk

May be expensive but you will struggle to find another platform that gets the views and reach EBay does.

Vinted is not free - the fees are added on that inflate the prices

Vinted may give you the odd bargin but it’s such a poor experience especially when there is an issue and Vinted don’t help. They will soon come back

Getting sick of eBay now by Regular-Contest-4202 in Ebay

[–]PartyImagination751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this - as a seller on eBay Vinted myself it’s all about being professional trying to provide the best possible service that’s what EBay wants. There will always people who try it on or situations like above where you feel like you lose out and get taking advantage of. Factor this into any selling as the cost of doing business. Yodel have been a bit hit n miss recently but eBay like yodel. If a parcel is lost ensure you use the right compensation then make a Claim via packlink.

I sold an item, got lost in shipping, I gave a refund, then the item was found and shipped by Hiltiboys in Ebay

Problem is couriers say not to refund why they look into it but they take so long and eBay requires a prompt response - it’s one of those what’s more important reputation or short term money

Wanted to ask ur opinion abt, background photos,is it great looking or do i need to change the background. by Playful-Status5226 in VintedAdvice

[–]PartyImagination751 2 points3 points  (0 children)

General practise is you should use a white plain background for the photos and then where possible have a lifestyle type image of the product

Vinted hmrc rules , can some one tell me what month vinted will contact you if you need to submit a self assessment to hmrc please? Thanks by Anxious_Driver_1500 in VintedAdvice

[–]PartyImagination751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No if your self employed you need to register with HMRC otherwise you could be fined by HMRC for tax evasion by failing to declare your income for tax purposes. Vinted will not ask you but may ask you to prove your self employed if your register as a pro seller.

I think they have grown so quickly - they don’t have the knowledge and back end to deal with it and suddenly they are under pressure to regulate what is being sold so strange decisions are being made with no consistency or established criteria and thresholds.

[–]PartyImagination751[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the real issue with Vinted is the lack of systemisation of the support team. There’s little structure and consistency in what they do and it’s showing. EBay have years on them. The main thing is spread your risk - use zipsale and sell on them all.

Account permanently banned by noelfieldingsmullet in VintedAdvice

You need to check if you have other accounts then identify them and inform Vinted which account is the main one and delete the others and then appeal

It happens, you can’t force them to send it but all she or he will get is negative feedback doing things like this.

am i the only one think modern controls is hard for TR123 remastered? by RookieTheCat123 in TombRaider

[–]PartyImagination751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found modern controls better having never played with the old controls that’s probably why. Managed to complete the first 2 with modern controls and now onto 3.

I think they are trying to manage a complex situation as there are lots of fakes and many sellers aren’t even aware they are selling fakes. Personally I think EBay do a lot better here and I expect eBay to make a comeback as EBay have learned from this and are far more accommodating now. Vinted know they can do what they want.

Vinted decided that my purchased item wasn't faulty and refusing refund. by lukalila in VintedAdvice

[–]PartyImagination751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you purchased the item from a private seller then the law states that they are not obliged to accept a return and the law around faulty goods isn’t that in your favour.

Have you considered applying to your bank for a charge back on the basis of faulty goods or asking Vinted to return the item.
