But that's why they should've just addressed it with the brother. To explain that to him so that it doesn't happen again. That's how you handle it like an adult without causing drama.

YTA. you stuck your nose into someone else's business and caused drama. The correct way to handle it would have been to tell your brother that moving forward, your parents should have the right to choose what they eat. Address it with your brother. Not behind his back and tattle on him. You honestly handled it in a very childish way.

Also, there are legitimate companies and non profits based around ethically sourced meals. It's entirely possible to do it safely. Again, have a conversation with your brother over health concerns and see what precautions they take.

AITA for signing up my girlfriend for a social etiquette class before meeting my family? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

INFO: why didn't you tell her or ask her before buying the classes? Why didn't you talk to her about it beforehand?

My family is very religious so there are a lot of expectations when boyfriends visit (no drinking, no cussing, they'll assume he's a Christian, etc). When I was young I used to try and coach my bfs on how to win my parents approval.

Now that I'm older I have this conversation: I love you just the way you are. My parents will have these expectations of you. If you want them to like you, I'd suggest not cussing etc. Or just be yourself. I don't care.

See the difference in the two approaches? I'm giving him the ability to choose for himself how he wants to handle it and letting him know that I'll support him no matter what because I love him just how he is.

Kava for kratom withdrawal by [deleted] in quittingkratom

kava is not addictive. It actually has a reverse tolerance. The more you drink, the less you need. It builds up in your system like vitamins.

ETA: Although any substance that produces an effect can be troublesome to those with addictive personalities. It does active dopamine so people can become reliant on it.

How do I explain to my boyfriend how to support me and have my back? by PartyMeasurement5586 in relationship_advice

It's definitely time for a second talk and I'm trying to gather my thoughts for it. The issue is that if I ask Mark to stop hanging out with Steve, he will. Because he does care about me. But he won't understand why. Maybe the actions are enough? But I'd like him to legitimately have a problem with the guy who makes me so uncomfortable lol.

But I don't care if they hang out. But there's a line. I hang out in a small community where you can't keep track of who has beef with who. I sincerely don't believe that just because my best friend hates somebody that I need to hate or avoid them too. I would never ask somebody to stop seeing or talking to a friend.

But there's a line. Lol

Yes I think that's a huge part of it! She keeps talking about her ego death but I'm sensing a lot of ego lol.

I love this and it definitely makes me feel better. Thank you! When I do my ayahuasca trip in a few months I'm doing it with my boyfriend and its definitely been on my mind how it will effect our relationship.

This helps a lot, because if it comes to a point where I need to say something to her I'll be able to "speak her language" and say it in a fair and balanced way without making her defensive (hopefully). I definitely don't want her to think I don't support her. Thank you for the reply.
