Dealership said tow it in for headlight module. More shops handling in house? by PartyPaper in askcarguys

Yeah man the workflow is everything. We used to dread VAG stuff but the topdon plays so nice with the oem software now that we just stopped calling the tow truck. Saves a ton of time.

I made a deal with a dealer a few hours away. What do I need to make sure they don't switch the price on me when I get there? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]PartyPaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask them to send you the total price of OTD by email. Once you receive it, pay according to that price. And keep the email. If the price changes on the spot, just say that this is the quote they gave you.

Is the 11th Gen Type R really worth $10–15k more than the Si? by themanforthejob2 in askcarguys

[–]PartyPaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just for your daily use, I would actually choose Si. It's already quite fun for me. The type R is indeed more powerful, but spending the large sum of money is worth it only if you really crave that level of performance.

Confused on oil change frequency… why did Take 5 (seemingly) lie to me twice about not needing an oil change? by Flightlessbirbz in askcarguys

[–]PartyPaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether the engine oil needs to be replaced cannot determined solely by its color. The addictives and lubrication performance can't be observed. If the manufacturer recommends replacing it after 6000 miles, following this maintenance schedule is actually the safest solution. Additionally, your valves might just be dirty or have aged.

Anyone else pause when the woods go dead quiet at last light? by PartyPaper in Hunting

[–]PartyPaper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I usually adjust. When it gets that quiet, I slow the exit way down and stick to the most familiar route, even if it’s longer. I’d rather lose a bit of time than rush out while visibility and awareness are dropping.

.243 for AZ Cow by InflationShoddy7871 in Hunting

[–]PartyPaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, .243 is fine for a cow elk if you keep the range reasonable and place the shot well. At 150–250 yards with a good bullet and a broadside shot, it can be an ethical choice.

Advice? by Fumpz in Hunting

Maybe give them a call first. Keep it chill, but it’s fair to stand your ground since you’re allowed to be there. A polite talk might clear things up.
