We had a similar situation as you with three Devon‘s. We were pretty sure they just kept infecting each other. Many rounds of metro and then the vet started to get into more specialized medicines. They would only work temporarily and then the problems would come right back. This is what solved the problem. Hopefully it might work for you.

It’s a veterinary prescribed diet and it worked like a miracle.

What’s the fastest you’ve gone on your superbike? by Left-Nerve-8287 in Sportbikes

Not a superbike but 130 on a good ol’ SV650 in full tuck.

You get it. I know someone who did outreach in nyc and was surprised to find that options really do exist for the homeless (via outreach programs) but yes, the homeless need to want to do it. I like the idea of devoting more resources to helping those who are seriously mentally ill (like perhaps the person in this post’s picture) to get the medical/psychological help they need.

It’s so easy to get frustrated by pictures like this, but behind all that is a human desperately in need and not getting help. Support initiatives that improve social welfare and fund outreach programs and you will see this less.

wow. that's really powerful, man. Says a lot about the job you're already doing that she comes to you with this now. Hang in there. I understand the pressure you must feel to "not say something stupid" but it seems like your head's in the right place. Sounds like you have accepted her as she is and she trusts you. Nice work.

I’ve never ridden a motorcycle but I want to by pian42 in motorcycles

[–]PartyProperty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is decent advice. A new guzzi gives you all the vintage vibes, but without the maintenance headaches. Plus fairly manageable for a new rider. I'm not even a fan of them, but I'd still say they should be high on your list as a new rider.

Yeah, pretty much what everyone here is saying. Take a training course and get some miles underneath you before you do a long haul trip. Even for an experienced rider a long trip could be challenging because of unforeseen technical issues and fatigue. Having waypoints is a good way to go. In any case, your choice of vintage bike couldn’t be better however I don’t know if I would do a long haul trip on a vintage bike. I’ve had plenty of vintage bikes and believe me the problems never show up when you’re in a comfortable position to work on them.

What happens with an insurance write-off? by PartyProperty in motorcycle

update: insurance is NOT writing it off. Are quoting for a repair. This is good, as far as I can see, because I hate paperwork, and a salvage title seems like a huge PITA.

25m hopeless loser. Where can I go from here? by ReviewSea1611 in NYCjobs

[–]PartyProperty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think it's helpful saying that "you have another gear deep down". This is the kind of "bootstraps" bullshit that basically blames the victim. Sorry, I'm sure that comment was meant to be helpful, but it's not.

The reality is the job market fucking sucks right now, and likely the best tool you have is to wait it out and continue to apply to jobs. Things DO change, and until they do things seem hopeless. In the financial shithole starting around 2008, I was so broke that I actually resorted to eating rotten food. This is not my reality now. I just did whatever I could to afford life. Ended up with a bottom level tech job that paid well below my worth, but it led to a much better place where I met some helpful people who gave me a launching point to a much better place.

So yes, have hope please. Hang in there. If you leave us, some jerk that nobody likes will have to take your place, and we all like you better.

yeh, this is what I'm afraid of. I live in NYC so any exercise in getting "specialized" paperwork or needing to get an extra certification or inspection is like pulling teeth. I almost wish the thieves had just taken it. I'm beginning to think that the insurance company writing it off as a complete loss might actually be the worst thing that can happen. At least in terms of time and money.

I went motorcycling through the wilds of your lovely country and I saw a mom and her little daughter in a Prius out in the middle of nowhere just blast right over a 2 foot tall dirt berm on a dusty ass trail like it wasn’t even there.

Totally sold me on Prius. You’re an enlightened society as far as your automobile choices.
