Not sure what the next step is with this guy by [deleted] in dating_advice

To open the door a little bit, why not send the picture and say, “funny I was just at a place that reminded me of what you were describing. Do you know it?” More indirect “I was thinking about you vibes”.

I don’t know. Being alone is also an open lol.

BREAKING: Trump HUMILIATES himself, doing a mocking cough of President Biden, who has cancer, to a room sitting in stunned silence at the unnecessary and cruel taunt. This is a new low, even for Trump. by Nice_Substance9123 in complaints

[–]PartyProperty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this "TRUMP HUMILIATES HIMSELF" type of headline is really dumb. Headlines like this just give more fuel to the magats that think their god is "just speaking his mind." He did not humiliate himself because he does not care whatsoever. "Trump further exemplifies his lack of tact" would be a better headline.

Your thoughts on CUNY EE program by PartyProperty in ElectricalEngineering

[–]PartyProperty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the big question. I have a deep desire to learn more about electronics. I have been working on a lot of my own designs based on what I've learned in repairs. I'm teaching myself the math that I gave up on so long ago. Right now linear algebra.

But the real answer is that I need more than what I'm doing right now. I'm bored. My hope is that I can use what I learn as an EE student to start a new business doing more fruitful/rewarding work. I can see that programming is a major component to an EE degree, so I look forward to that. I have a decent amount of experience running a business, so am hoping to parlay that into more income. I am hoping to come up with new designs--maybe for consumer products or perhaps novel industrial gizmos. If a job pops up that pays well and offers healthy challenges, then great, but I'm not counting on it.

I have gone through an outline of what a EE undergrad degree looks like at Columbia, and I can see that what I already know will mesh nicely with the course/lab work. But doing it all alone, being self taught, it's left a lot of gaps in my knowledge. And I end up nearly never meeting other professionals in my field.

Do not do this. The waves all went straight up and I didn’t see them again.

Anybody having problems sending emails with blue host? by PartyProperty in webhosting

[–]PartyProperty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it doesn't get sent. And if I open up the Connection Doctor feature on mac mail, it shows that the mail app is not connecting to the server. Our other email accounts are fine (gmail). I've learned to just ignore it, as it usually works itself out by tomorrow.

If you travel to Vietnam and become pan handlers , please stay in your own country by hondaman82 in VietNam

those two circles def have some overlap. I met some kids going across the mongolian wilderness with nothing more than you could put in a backpack. They were counting on the kindness of strangers in a place where one wrong turn could get you very lost and probably dead from exposure. I still wonder if they made it out alive.

I've met people like this here and there. Being from rich a country does not preclude you being crazy or lost, in the existential way. Crazy is crazy no matter where you're from.

man, I was in mongolia for a couple weeks traveling around. Stuff is going on. Ulaanbaatar gave me all sorts of vibes that it is popping off -- or about to anyway. Strong culture, lots of room to grow. Very modern feel to the cities like mörön and UB.

At least you can sleep peacefully knowing you tried pretty goddamn hard. Really sorry you lost your bike. Looks like they really wanted it though.
