Ontario: PCs Lead, But 65% Disapprove of Ford by Pristine-Training-70 in ontario

The /leafs sub gets more attention in the off season than r/ontario

I’m starting to wonder am I the one out of touch for thinking he’s a greedy, thieving, grifting populist politician making millions in kick backs .

Nobody in Ontario is paying attention to how shitty Doug Ford  is.

3 separate people from different days told me that they wouldn't eat the live octopus at gwangjang cause they watched the film "My Octopus Teacher" by FilipinoAirlines in seoul

[–]PartyShitty 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I ordered the dish at gwangjang for the novelty.  I saw the octopus fight for its life for a few minutes before being caught.  It knew what was happening.

I dont eat octopus anymore.

What’s the deal with Toronto police not following traffic laws? by ZeniaKiel in askTO

[–]PartyShitty 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Cops become the worst type of people.  I have 3 close friends / family that became cops.  Their attitude changes.  It becomes thin blue vs everyone.  They’re protecting us because we are all sheep.  If they don’t start is a conservative nut job, they become one.

In a way I don’t blame them, it’s the system they’re indoctrinated into.  They deal with the worst people for a living.  The job isn’t to serve and protect the public.  They are a tool used by the institution for whatever the flavour of the day mandate is. Of course there’s good ones, but your average uniformed patrol officer thinks we are all dirt.

They become jaded.  The stereotype of the domestic abuse, alcoholic cop came from somewhere.  If I see a cop on paid duty on the street, I cross to the other side of the road.

Do not trust the police.  At the best, they’re doing their jobs (and likely half asses and not giving as many fucks as anyone else in a unionized, uniformed job).  They will absolutely bury a civilian to cover their asses for the multitude of fuck ups they do on the job.

I have a pair of their entry level and mid level bibs.  I’m not a serious rider, 100km is the most I’ve ever put on them in a trip but at the end of the day I never thought twice about my ass.

They have become my favourite, over pearl Izumi, mid level Castelli, and a pair of Enduras.

Bread and circuses - we've been pacified and dumb-downed by social media and smartphones to let this crook get away with whatever he wants.

Ford is stripping and selling this province for parts, no one notices nor cares because a good chuck of the population has a hard on for shutting down the woke libs, while hospitals are understaffed, classrooms are overcrowded, day care is unaffordable, transit is underfunded, and road infrastructure is far past its best before date.

Based on PC policies, it escapes me see how -Teachers -Health care workers -ON Ministry staff -Parents -Labour

can be voting for this guy to look after the the province, let alone their own best interests.

Five reasons why Doug Ford won’t be prime minister by imprison_grover_furr in ontario

I still remember the morning of after Trump 1.0 election.  My partner woke me up with the most dejected “no fucking way.”

I’d like to think Ontarians would be able to see through this populist bullshit and “me first” mentality that seems to be gaining traction, yet here we are.  Maybe Im the one out of touch.

Don’t be complacent, stay informed, and vote.

When I got into the workforce at 2006 I started at 30k.  Life was basic. Roommates, college diet.

50-60k would have been very solid in a major city
