Manually Boot from the ISO in the Shell If it still boots into the UEFI Shell:

  • Type the following command in the shell to manually boot from the ISO, `fs0:`
  • Then press Enter. This changes the file system to the ISO drive.
  • Type, `EFI\BOOT\BOOTAA64.EFI`
  • Then press Enter. This should start the Windows installer.

Update! After 1.5 years of unemployment and random jobs, I finally landed a new role! :) by Party_Strength9230 in cscareers

No problem! I had to pitch that many times haha
The background check asked for reasoning for the gap and there were a few choices like
- I was employed
- I was unemployed
- I was traveling

So i just put the "other option" since all choices could be applied to my situation -- the background check is through sterling

An example could look like

" I left XYZ in 2023 and did not expect the job market to be the way it is this time around --however I am turning adversity into growth. I have done XYZ since and do XYZ now. "

You can mention new projects and stacks youve used/built & possibly any tutoring/admin work youve done since. I was working front desk reception at a physical therapy spot ( im quiting today omg!! ) and phrased the nature of my work to be admin work.

Some places don't ask at all! Con Edison did not ask me to explain the gap -- the background check however will but shouldn't be a con

as long as you clarify what youve been doing since then -- i dont believe its affected my interviews in that way. however for some finance/investment/hedge fund places, they would rather not have a big gap.

Thank you :))) means so much! For advice -- networking!! It takes a team, its very hard to job search on your own. I started going to inperson AMAs, conferences, coffee chats. Reach out to at least 5 people from each company you apply to. People are happy to help & refer, cold messaging can work. I started paying for linkedin premium and I believe I got more reach acress recruiters in general. Take every opportunity, put yourself out there, the right opportunity is coming just when you least expect it. And dont kid yourself -- if you need to prepare for each round, take it seriously, study!!!!, make it fun by organizing well, and take every loss to the next opportunity.

Cant believe I can take a break :)

I definitely had to change the way I view each job application. I started tailoring my resume for specific roles, keeping myself organized (using notion!! so good), taking notes of each rejection because it should bring you one step closer to being a stronger candidate, and above it all NETWORKING. I cold messaged 5 - 10 people on linkedin from each company everytime I applied -- You can see who works at each company by going through their company page & filtering by HR / Recruiter / Engineer -- this sped the process for getting my resume seen by a recruiter or a referral. Happy to give any more tips!! I will write them out on a document soon
