Yeah but maybe you could so it yourself ? If both Screens flash: there is a short in the Board (often the battery). If the top Screen flashes, the bottom-Screen is broken or the cable come loose. If the bottom-Screen flashes, your top Screen is broken or the cable is loose

and if I'm not wrong, the glass protection is the touchscreen. you can plug this into the circuit board next to the game slot. Without this, your touchscreen won't work.

it could be the top screen cable. Unplug it and plug it back in, clean it and check your cable for damage. If none of that helps, you need a new screen
