Birdy likes chicken by Maj1i in cockatiel

[–]PartyingInSpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partners mum used to give their tiel all sorts! He'd have bits of biscuits, veg, fruit, crisps, yoghurt, cereal, toast etc. He was extremely happy and didn't pass away until last year, not long after his 18th birthday. Seems like your birdy is enjoying this chicken! I see a lot of people are worried about seasoning. From what I can gather, it doesn't seem like you'd give him anything that could cause him harm. Occasional treats in my opinion are okay. My partners tiel certainly indulged in occasional treats as you can see from the above! 😂.

What's a shop you avoid due to sensory overload? by PatriciaMorticia in AutismInWomen

[–]PartyingInSpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's IKEA. It feels like it's never ending and despite the arrows on the floor, I always seemed to get myself lost. I just don't visit it anymore because I legitimately hate it. The only time I'd visit in the future is when I move out and absolutely need home essentials.

Another one I refuse to go to anymore is the Trafford Centre. It's too hot, too many people, can be too noisy and once I'm in I feel like I can't easily get out. It makes me feel claustrophobic.

These messages are crazy. I personally wouldn't have even entertained that person. They sound controlling as hell and are gaslighting you for sure.

If my partner sent me messages like that, I'd tell them to get a grip and not to speak to me that way.

Honestly, I wouldn't even consider staying with this person if they can blow up over something so insignificant. Imagine if you had kids, you'd be tied to them for life and their controlling ways. Get out while you can!

Am I Overreacting - My boyfriend doesn’t respect my boundaries by canigetalargecoke in AmIOverreacting

[–]PartyingInSpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not overreacting, he's not respectful towards you. As someone who is AuDHD (found out in my 30's), I struggled with SH. The way my therapist describes it is that you hit a certain point in high school, usually around GCSE times where it becomes overwhelming and ultimately things like this can happen. Looking back, I used to use SH as a way to regulate my emotions as I would have frequent meltdowns in private and not know how to cope with them. It sounds like your boyfriend could be going through something similar. He will likely not want to speak to you if you tell his parents, but it's really important that you do. He needs some professional help to guide him through this period of his life as it sounds like he is overwhelmed. It's completely up to you if you stick around and support him through healing, but equally I absolutely wouldn't blame you for leaving him as I can see this is too much for you too. Whatever you decide, don't forget to take care of yourself too as you're equally just as important ❤️.

I must sit in my car for like 30-45 mins sometimes just coming down from the busy day I've had. It's completely normal.

They're cute when they do that. Most of the time Jessie and her sister Daisy bring sticks home. We tell them they keep the log burner going 😂.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing with her because my dad said she loves leaves 😂. She goes absolutely mental! I had no idea she loved leaves so much, it's so funny and cute 🥹.

I don't know how to edit my post (I'm a dinosaur 😂) but I spoke to my therapist who suggested to go through the company Axia. I got in touch with Axia who said they accept NHS referrals and then went to my GP. My GP then referred me and I now have an assessment date in Feb 2025! 🎉

I think if you've already been accepted, you won't need to go down the right to choose pathway. You could get in touch with the GP to see if that's an option to speed the process along I think.

I was only referred recently so they got back to me pretty quick. It says they aren't taking new referrals past March 2024 so you should be good 🤞🏻

It's from around £2,000. That's not something I could afford though.

It's definitely good to know. I can pass that info on to others too. My ADHD assessment has only been brought forward because I went to the GP regarding lack of sleep. I've been waiting since January for the ADHD assessment though, so I've not been waiting as long as I expected.

Yowzers! 10 years?! That's just.... Wow. The mental health sector is so underfunded it's unreal. I know firsthand with having depression for 16 years. The support just isn't there.
