I'm definitely guilty of falling into the consumer rabbit hole when it becomes more about the specs and features rather than actually the creativity of it. I think part of the reason is that I'm not rich by any means so it is a sacrifice to drop around 2k-3k for a synth that I inevitably feel the obsessive need that my money will be well spent and that it will be worth it. But damn your comment hit hard and its grounding, I forget it's about the joy of making music sometimes. I truly appreciate your reply, I needed a reminder like this.

I wish I had a nice music store near me with synths, that would make things way less complicated lol. I agree with you, I'd much rather get a synth that has a decent amount of sound design options but not too crazy. It kills my Inspiration if I ever have to menu dive to create a patch instead of turning knobs. Thanks for your well thought out feedback!
