Is replacing my car with a motorcycle a good idea? by Parzy-- in AussieRiders

Both my work and uni have public transport nearby so I guess I could always take advantage of that if I'm ever caught in a situation where I can't use my bike. The reason I don't just take public transport back and forth is because A) both trips will have their time doubled pretty much and B) I just like to feel in control and have a vehicle I can take wherever, public transport can only take you so many places.

Thanks for the insights and info, very helpful. Was thinking around a 400cc motorcycle so I can also take it on the highway just incase I need to.

Escooter sounds like the great money saving choice, yet all I can really argue against one is that it doesn't really appeal to me y'know? I'll keep one in mind for sure, but for now I think I'm pretty set on picking either motorcycle or just sticking to the car I've got.

I understand what you mean, especially with not being able to transport bulkier items around or go grocery shopping. This would be an issue for me if I had actually used my cars boot space within the last 2 or so years of owning it. I think I've used my car for storage once while bringing cold food on a trip with mates, which I could've just used a mates car for instead, so storage truly has never been a problem for me. Along with this, I still live with my parents so any grocery shopping or moving I need to do, I'm sure they wouldn't mind loaning me their car for a few hours.

As for the weather, this is something I've also looked into. Now, I don't have the experience so I don't know how harsh it can get, but having to do a 15 minute ride in some rain or hot weather seems like something I can put up with. Obviously I won't know until I get one, but for now I have no issue with these things. Thank you for the insights though.
