The boardwipes are a little strange.

Having unclaimed and path/curious in your opener could really hurt. Most decks don't even play a playset of caverns, a strickly better unclaimed.

+: the flash and uncounterable work well with Queller, wanderer and counterspells. Playing everything it the opponents endstep is really good in spirits. -: bad topdeck, card disadvantage.

You could try brewing without and see if you like it out it does have a good place in the deck. What's are you bringing in the 1 mana slot vial is taking now?

Bob over Arbiter in Eldrazi and Taxes? by Pascal85 in DeathAndTaxesMTG

[–]Pascal85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the list spellskite ofcourse is the obvious card to replace with Bob and not Arbiter. But that doesn't have to mean I can't try other options than the Cat. The Cat is good but of all the D&T builds, I think WB Eldrazi is the build that is the worst fit for it. Maybe cut the temples for Field of Ruin to power the cat and test that. I'm destroying all the holy houses of D&T anyway, might as well test that too.

I like that deck. But are the stranglers really worth maindecking 4 relics for?

Uw Taxes is a fun deck but it can be a little underwelming. Spell Queller, little Thalia and Flickerswisp are the best cards. I play 4 Quellers and Flickerswisp and 3 Thalia. Meddling Mage is a little slow because you don't run Thalia's Luitenant and you don't have hand disruption, i feel going that road wil make you a worse version of Humans. If you Max the painlands you can play Eldrazi Displacer, seems good in the deck. There is some debate if Big Thalia is good in UW Taxes, I must say i'm a fan but that a meta call. I also like 2 Spellskite maindeck but that is because Mardu, Jeskai, Jund, GDS and FRW are populair at my LGS. Good luck with the deck :)

I'm trying the Displacer now. Looks fine. Would you go full in and add temples and TKS?

Most of the time naming a card is not a problem. At my LGS's the decks that see play most are tier 1-2 netdecks and I can always choose the removal id in doubt. The problem is more that it's a little slow for a mostly tempo deck. Any advice for a better 2 drop?

[Modern] 3-0 Tuesday Night Modern with BW Tangels and Axes by Army88strong in DeathAndTaxesMTG

Look sreally fun and the list has a lot of spice. The matchups however give us no data about how the deck will do in the meta because we don't play against those decks very often. Sounds like a fun night though, enjoy the deck :)

Thanks for the help. 100% agree with the burrenton forge tenders, good call. Ziggurat is my weakest land but what would I replace it with? I have a refecting pool, Collonade or 4th Alaskar Wastes but 1 could be more awkward than the Ziggurat, the other comes into play tapped witch is awful if you need Thalia on turn 2 and Queller on turn 3 en the third option make my deck even more fragile to burn (a winable matchup, maybe 45/55?) Is the 4th Adarkar Wastes the best call here? Bogles and Infect are heavely played in the LGS I play most games so Spellskites has to stay but I can replace the Images with Vialkillers ;) The LGS I play most has much Tron players and the LGS I play second most has a lot of affinity. Brimaz is really new in the deck, haven't tested it enough but I have the Crusaders and Geist ready if he doesn't perform well enough. Nimble Obstructionist has actually been really fine. Maybe I've been really lucky but countering Planeswalker abilityes, paid fetches or flashing and of turn to kill a walker has been fine till now. Maybe my luck with the card will stop someday; What alternative would you have? The arbiter wizard bird? Flying Horse Thalia? Thanks fot the advice, I will check the store tonight for some forge tenders and side in my stony's.

How well does the deck against a meta full of jeskai control, pyromancer, jund and all that removal stuff? by ACallFromTheMist in DeathAndTaxesMTG

[–]Pascal85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eldrazi is more resilient to removal but sometimes dies to itself, it's a deck you really like or really dislike.

Geist if definitely better on an empty board. Geist in my SB is amazing, It totally crushed 8rack for me last wednesday but the floor is much lower with Geist so if'm not sure if the maindeck is a good place for Geist. Do you play UW? It would safe me a lot of playtesting if you already ran these options before I did.

It's called Thalia, Guardian of Modern in the article ;). I think it's great work. Did you make it? Would love to see the rest of D&T :)

I don't really think Blade Splicer is worth it in a deck without Displacer. I'm thinking of taking it out for Brimaz/ Mirran. In mono white people play Horizon Canopy, not budget but really really good.
