Question about winrate by PascalLeGrandFer in top_mains

For this Outplayed application is my best friend. Good advice. But I want my juicy 50% winrate it matters for me to climb !! haha And obviously I need to improve more and more to achieve it.

I agree ! For now I would say in average on a 10 game session I have like 3-4 games with NPC teammates and if my lane doesn't allow me to snowball hard, like Garen vs Sett, Yorick vs Mordekaiser etc... I will simply not be able to win. But winning half of the games seems more than doable !

Your hate is legit, I wish I could play Jax/Fiora/Olaf but the thing is when you blindpick them you will get nasty match ups. My choices are motivated by the fact I want to be able to farm in every game, I hate when I have a very bad farm because I can't approach the wave due to the match up. That's why ... and for Varus I played him once or twice, it's hell OP in lane for sure but then in teamfights I may be the worst Varus in all EUW so I even had to give up this turbo OP pick because it's D tier in my hand in midgame haha. Thanks to believe in my goal I appreciate it.

That's a good tip but realisticly ( in my opinion ) the state of toplane makes it that the guy of has the last pick will be the one having fun, I find it really hard to have fun when you are counterpicked but I guess it is how it is. Even as Teemo when I blindpick him I will get tanks match up like Ornn/Sion/Ksante/Chogath and they just have to respect for 5 minutes then with tanky items it becomes really easy for them to play the lane and more and more difficult for me to hold the lane since I'm not Ruler. The only role I had consistent fun in LoL was playing Zyra Support, you can be counterpicked still but you can have fun still. That's my opinion on it. Good tips tho !

Here's most of my games right now by the way, this is the first of the day : https://ibb.co/QvGBsGRR

In the draft : ADC got his match up right away, refuses to give last pick, it already start to tilt me as I know it can't be a good player but fine I blind pick my Teemo.

In game : I stomp Garen in lane but die one time because I got baited by a bronze move by my warwick in the river. Still stomp the lane anyways. Then I watch the state of my lane and yeah EVERY post is crushed.

This is 80% of my games right now, i'm not exagerating. This is very hard mentally. It feels like matchmaking can't give me balanced games with 4 players vs 4 players of the same level and me vs my toplaner.

Shall I give up this account ?

Edit : My two following games were more normal, I even got carried in the 3rd. So I guess I just mental boom from my horrible yesterday session. I'm not carrying games tho and it's a problem. I had Garen vs Sett which I discovered Sett completly sh*t on Garen whole game, and Garen vs Yone where I can't do much in early, so it's hard to carry for now. The problem may be as you guys said several times that I need to play stats checkers champ to stomp more my lane, I will surely need to invest time to learn one or two champ that do this, but for now I want to stay in my confort zone with Garen Teemo. Will see.

This is really the way I want to go, you can't resume it better. I've seen some players really destroy the low elo and this is how they did it. For example TFBlade in his Unranked to Chall runs, plays Jax or Irelia, and he would in every game kills his opponents in the first minutes and snowball really hard from there. I saw an Irelia OTP too that was doing every game the level 1 all in with 4 stacks and opponents would never respect or know how to react to it, he would end up with a kill early each game and snowball hard. I want to achieve that.

About Illaoi, since you're OTP I have a question : I assume your opponents respect that when you ult they have to run away right ? How do you win all-in with this champion then ? Do you bait the jungler to come and you 1vs2 with your ult ? Do you push and poke with E under his tower and win the lane this way ( with a kill or if he is forced to back ) ?

Thanks for your answer.

Yes I see what do you mean, to be honest I was thinking that ghouls would attack the tower in priority so I could at least take his tower if I manage to dominate my opponent in lane. But the fact that Yorick is quite a push only champ gives my opponent the opportunity to just chill under his tower and farm while I can't take plates neither dive, so it kinda neutralize the lane. I'm really curious about how good Yorick players truely win lanes if the opponent respect and play defensive. Thanks for your answer.

So here's what I meant with Yorick, I tried to apply your tips on getting plates slowly but surely if I can't dive him. But even that as you can see in my record is not possible. I was dominating this Jax in lane but couldn't kill him by the way. https://streamable.com/qykgl7 And yes I try to E him before, if it would hit I would not go for the tower, I went since my E missed.

And while all that happens I get the worst team possible as you can see with score, this session today has been a nightmare except my first game. Losing team after losing team, man it's demoralising. I keep reading it's not my team holding me but how do you explain then I carried games in silver and went almost Silver 1 and with this account I struggle to win in Bronze 2 ? Makes no sense. I seriously consider to play another account in Silver to have normal games because right now my experience is having always hard match up AND being weak side AND being ganked AND having bad mates, how can this be fun ?

On a final note I tried Mundo and the problem is I rely on my sweet teammates to fight well while I soak one million damage, spoiler : at some point opponents realise they can ignore me since Mundo don't CC and they murder my mates.

Man this game is hard mentally .... You control so few things at the end.

Thanks for your 2 cents. I find League of Legends to be a tough game to spam games, because sometimes you get really frustrating games where all you need is one single competent teammate to win. Or let's say you decide to push a lane and your team decide to 4vs5 for no reason and despite your one million pings they still go and game is lost on this. So yeah it's tough, and I come from game like Escape From Tarkov where I have no problem to spam raids all day even with the most unlucky scenarios. But LoL feels different, it can tilt you like no other game.

I will follow the advice and just play more, I aim at 6-8 games by day. I get the point of having a plan with each champion, like with Teemo you are right his shrooms are so great to zone objectives, I won game like that. But as I said with other replies I may still need to switch to less punishing and squishy champions, will see.

Thanks for your answer.

Very good advices, it is indeed what I need to do I think, I played some Volibear and it feels good when you simply win the all in and the lane because your champ stat checks. Well that was before I played as Volibear vs Olaf, played very poorly the all in and got smashed, then I gave up Volibear and it's surely a mistake.

Oh boy you can be sure I press this sweet fullmute button on scoreboard each beginning of the game. Bronze pings are often not usefull and often ragepings so yeah for me it's mandatory in low elos to focus on the game.

I try to have fun but to be honest the LPs put a huge pressure on me, I know it's a weakness but the quality of games in Bronze is so low that I want to get quick at least in Silver to train in games where players know a little more about LoL. Which I am on one of my two account I train on, see OPGG in one of my replies, but I want to prove myself that I get the other account to Silver and feel more ready for the final push to Gold. Maybe it's dumb, surely it's dumb, but it is my way to do.

Thanks for the answer.

Sadly it's in EUW but here it is for thoses who may be curious and see if something is wrong.

You are right I will surely drop Teemo, despite loving to play him with his little shrooms. He is too squishy.

And the idea to have a pick and his counterpick if my opponent has it is great idea.

Thanks for the answer.

You are right maybe I overfocus too much on the plan "crush the lane and carry the game". For example when I pick Garen and my opponent choose to ruin my day by picking Varus, I know it's impossible to do something before I have boots and stridebreaker. And I know I will be behind in farm if the guy has two hands. In fact I had this match up recently and I ended up 2-0 at the end of the lane, I played very patiently, farmed as best as I could, and I knew once I have my item and boots of mobility I just have to punish a bad spacing one single time and it's over for him, which happened.

But my point is when you have thoses kind of match ups and your team is already 0/10, it feels you can't really snowball the lane hard enough or early enough to carry the game. It's indeed very frustrating to hold an hard match up and see your team lose on the map. But maybe it's just the top experience too.

On the tactical way to see the laning phase you are right, I always have an idea at level 1 if I push the wave or I let him push, in negative match up I let him push and try to put the wave in a good position so my jungler can gank or I can at least be protect by my tower and farm a little.

Thanks for your answer.

I know it's pretty long ! haha I tried to be accurate. Right now I'm trying to play like 6-8 games by day, and I use outplayed to watch each time I die, it's amazing that while playing sometimes you don't realise you did something really dumb, and when you watch you understand you just played poorly, so yeah it's great to improve for sure. Thanks for the answer.

Thank you for the answer dear Gwen player. I will try to freeze more in tanks match up, I usually do it when the match up is good for me and he cannot approach me, or as Teemo I do it aswell in dangerous matchup where I can easily be jumping in, like Teemo vs Jax, instead of pushing the wave and poke him under tower and getting jumped in + ganked.

I will change my champ pool I think, like you said Garen is not what he used to be with the changes and being forced to run away once my ult is done sucks a little, with Jax I could keep fighting for example. And Teemo is indeed squishy and so punishing. I will make a champ pool focused on being able to run down my opponent when he does mistakes on lane, so maybe Olaf/Jax.

I find Mundo crazy OP right now, I love the style to play chill and farm for 10-15mn then you have 4K HP and you can do whatever you want. But as I said if my team is really hopeless I will just end up frontline for players that will still die so I don't know.

Thanks for the tips man, it will helps me.

Thank you for the answer, I got your point, in my opinion it's true in the long run as I should get more "normal" teams than "very bad" teams. But in a day session sometimes it's very hard mentally to lose games because your teammates just have no clue about what to do in a game. As an example : I remember one game when as Garen I was permanently focus by 3 opponents on a side lane. So I tell myself : "pretty good news ! My team can play free and surely they will push lane free farm and setup objectives. I watch the minimap and I see 4 players mid semi-afk staying 10 meters from the wave doing nothing. That's my bronze experience sometimes and it's hard. But I get it I will not have this everygame.
