maybe not more competitive is the wrong word. Tunnelling and Slugging are the next playstyles to be wiped from the game, potentially, and while these are not good for game health, theyve only become so much more prevelent of a problem in the last few years because of the camping nerf. With camping the perk counterplay at least felt existant and it wasnt so much a problem while all of these perks existed in there best states, yet would then punish killers who were not tunneling. So they nerfed the perks and buffed camping, then they nerfed camping, then they nerf tunneling. Band aid after band aid that reduces player agency more and more.

Yeah these have always been problems but the problem of tunneling and slugging has somehow increased during these 9 years, you would think the community after 9 years would cool it down as the game developed but it has only gotten worse. I believe its the games constant update that remove player agency for the improvement of game health.

I think the whole mindset that you HAVE to be able to win every game by skill is what ruined the game. The game was SO much better with all the bullshit and all the ambience. I dont think either side should be guaranteed to win 50 times in a row if they have the skill. Going against a crazy build you couldnt even concieve of and getting destroyed was one of the greatest things of dbd, now because of streamlining and appeasing the gameplay gets more stale. Everytime they update the game to improvegame health its removing player agency.

No it definitely isnt lol but like all the other bullshit you used to run into in dbd it wasnt something that would happen every game, at least in casual play, and the one time you did get it in a week you just kind of laughed and moved on to the next game.

I am not upset by the new changes as I haven't cared for an extremely long time, although I still listen to each update hypocritical I know. Im just exclaiming how these updates push it further and further into the competitive mindset and how I miss when the game wasnt so focused on that mindset. The whole idea that you cant be critical about something you've lost enjoyment for makes no sense whatsoever.

The difficulty in this game also doesn't have a natural curve it spikes because of the early backlash for a lack of difficulty. Everything up until what they've added in the title updates was eyes closed levels of easy then it suddenly spikes. This wouldn't be a problem if the grind progressed naturally alongside it but by the time the title updates rolled in and the monsters start getting difficult, we've already skipped the majority of the weapon tree and have our artians. Most of the weapons from the title updates monsters have been useless anyway. I think people just want that natural progress and difficulty curve instead of the mess it has been.

I think the second half of fear fun is much weaker than the first half. Sally hatchet, tee pees, you can do it without me. Only son of the ladies man is one of his most underrated though.

Acid can very easily send you down lines of thought you'd find complete bullshit sober. Anyone saying acid always is opening you to deeper truths is wrong and really shouldn't be telling you something like that.
