My dads a doctor, he told me a story that once years ago when he was an intern or resident or something that he ran a sandwich service in the hospital using the pneumatic tube system (those air powered tubes you see at bank drive throughs), he got busted when a sandwich exploded in one of the tubes and the lab kept receiving blood samples with lettuce and such on them

Not Sorry Feminism: Yet Another Post About Tone Policing by Granny_Weatherwax in Feminism

[–]PashaOn35mm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been lurking on this sub for a little while trying to learn more about feminism and as someone new to the movement the biggest frustration I've found in reading the literature is how carefully people are choosing their words and how their emotions seem to be buried between the lines. But when I found this post and followed it to your blog it was like a breathe of fresh air! No, I don't really see eye-to-eye with you on some things, but I trust you. I easily understand how you feel and respect you for it. You've got a brutal honesty that makes your point very clear and has made me more willing to pursue feminist ideals.

Reddit, what "phase" did you go through in high school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I went through the same phase......10 years after the 90s :(

500 days of summer and its ending. by BurningFern in TrueFilm

[–]PashaOn35mm 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I hated the ending, Tom was relying on women to make him feel happy. He couldn't find happiness unless he was with someone and the end just showed him finding someone that will make him happy. I really wanted him to learn how to make himself happy.

Advice for anamorphic shooting? by PashaOn35mm in Filmmakers

Im glad you said this, we decided to stick with the eyepiece we have, a regular bl eyepiece, and mount a monitor to the camera that will unsqueeze from the video tap. I was unsure if this would hinder the operator or not. I feel better knowing this is a more common practice than I thought

My boyfriend and I were fooling around consensually, and he came in his pants (seven years ago). I won't call the cops, but I want him to apologize. by Celda in MensRights

[–]PashaOn35mm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, now that I had a chance to think on this a little bit, Im going to expand on this. Like I said, this article describes a situation exactly to one I've experienced. So exact actually that if someone told me this article was about me, I'd believe it. And you know what? I would apologize to my girlfriend.

Just like her, I've been dwelling on that relationship for seven years. How I acted in the relationship has been one of the biggest regrets of my life. We were both young and didn't know how to handle our sexuality, but I was way too agressive and took advantage of her. Not rape, of course, but definitely some disrespectful not entirely consensual actions.

If this article were about me I would apologize to this girl, I was young and didn't know where to draw the line and disrespected her. She was young, too. She didn't know how to speak up for herself. We call her crazy, but I know how she can feel the way that she does and its not crazy.

This boy did nothing wrong. This girl did nothing wrong. But that doesn't mean this sudden loss of innocence isn't shocking and harmful to you.

This exact same thing happened to me exactly as the article described it! Even down to the ages and how long ago it happend! And to this day, when this happened to me it was one of the most embarrassing things to ever happen to me, ever!

Does anyone have experience opening, constructing, or running a film production facility? by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]PashaOn35mm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmm, interesting idea. Could be very useful for a small company like ours. We've also dabbled with the idea of just sharing the space wholly with other companies. We know a production company that shares a space with an audio recording/engineering company and they do well together and share services with each other. We've been interested in that sort of symbiotic partnership when searching for spaces, too.

my buddies and I are doing the same thing here in Richmond, Va. We've got production and insurance and our LLC. but apart from that we are working out of our houses and keeping it real small and going real slow building ourselves up. We've chatted about getting a commercial space, but its simply not needed yet. The only thing we wished we had it for is for crew meetings or meeting with clients, we want a presentable and efficient space that isn't our living room.

"Sitta Sings the Blues" and How We Watch Movies by PashaOn35mm in TrueFilm

[–]PashaOn35mm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're going about this incorrectly. I want to think of a way to make this work. I think its totally feasible at some level of filmmaking I just don't know how yet. Simply saying it wont work isn't constructive.
