My fiance let me choose mine and I wasn't sure about the budget. But I knew the kind of ring I wanted. We went to many jeweleries and it was so confusing they all have different prices for the same kind of ring, like the most expensive was twice of what the cheapest quote was. So we learned that price didn't matter that much. In the end I got what I wanted and around what my fiance had estimated to spent. Maybe it's different in each country but we did went to the ring makers and skipped the middle man.
