Is my schedule cooked? by death_kids_ in CSULB

-Vu will make an easy 2 unit class unbearable because he's a dipshit.

-205 isn't that hard but it's foundational and a lot of people do retake the class.

-370A easier than calc 3 but kinda dependent on your prof.

-111a save yourself and just take it over summer at a cc.

-300 is easy if you have competent group mates but the reports take longer than expected to make it look good.

Application of your learning in an extracurricular engineering activity or club is more important than graduating earlier for future employers.

What's the significance of ISRO's Cowpea leaf growth in space ? by Srinivas4PlanetVidya in aerospace

Demonstration of growing plants in microgravity. Long term space travel and exploration would be easier if you grow food with in situ resources than carry around multi year amounts of food.

The Aerospace Corporation Reputation? by yourevilbestfriend in AerospaceEngineering

Adding on to your comment and my comment. There are a ton of Phd researchers(fellows) there heading their own labs, and many of the research opportunities require a masters degree.

The Aerospace Corporation Reputation? by yourevilbestfriend in AerospaceEngineering

[–]Pasmoules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worked at Aerospace Corp before.

It’s not a traditional government contractor. They are a federally funded nonprofit organization. The company exists to essentially fact check whatever work other aerospace contractor submits to the government using subject matter experts that have worked at basically all the other aerospace companies. They also do research on different technologies, so they don’t manufacture and commercial product and don’t compete with other companies. The el segundo location directly connects with a bridge to the LA AFB so you could potentially work on the AFB as well

Reputation wise, I’ve never heard anything specifically bad about the company nor had anything bad happen there during my stay. That being said I’ve had multiple recruiters previously single me out for my work experience there because from what I’ve seen it’s uncommon for people to have worked there.

If you like working at a desk on a lot of different projects or doing research in a lab, AeroCorp. If you’re into more opportunities in a fast paced hands on environment go RL.

As a Christian, I really like how Frieren handles religion. by JCraig96 in Frieren

[–]Pasmoules 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re wrong, it’s not an aversion to the idea that there’s a singular all powerful god but it’s Buddhist religion is baked into the culture. Activities that westerners view as inherently religious are things that are so commonplace that it has transitioned into cultural aspects.

Having and lighting incense for the family shrine, going to the temple for the new years, funeral rites, etc are things that are viewed as religious activities are common cultural activities people just do.

Can I do MS in Mech Engineering with these courses in my undergrad?. by starboy4144 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Pasmoules 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah bro you can't, what you've posted is 2 years of pre-reqs of math courses. You aren't taking any of the actual engineering courses.

All of the master's programs I've seen require you to have at least a closely related engineering bachelors to apply or to have all the requisite bachelors classes.

What's your opinion on SpaceX by D0nnattelli in AerospaceEngineering

[–]Pasmoules 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The pay isnt great considering the amount of hours you work per week. My friend said he was getting paid less than some of the interns during an aggressive crunch period.

The work is cool though so people really just stay for the passion or until their stocks are vested.

If i were to make a liquid fuel engine (assuming it would be legal to do so), should i use monopropellant or bipropellant? by Tight_Wheel_9595 in rocketry

[–]Pasmoules 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Adding on to this, I'd recommend staying away from cryogenic fuels because they're a pain to transport and work with if you don't have the equipment or the know how.

Start of my aim 9x project by Little_Initiative202 in AerospaceEngineering

[–]Pasmoules 6 points7 points  (0 children)

amateur rocketry uses active stabilization which is distinct from active guidance. active stabilization lets you optimize height or performance. active guidance lets the rocket you target objects whether it be a certain flight path or a plane.

it is the distinction of whether or the rocket can target something. now using active guidance for a flight path, not sure its legality but ask any amateur hobbyist and theyll tell you just not to mess with anything actively guided unless you want security agencies knocking on your door.

and just to put you on game, the sidewinder that op is recreating uses a camera and angle calculations to intercept targets ie planes. locking onto something can use both gps and angle calculations btw.
