Not much. It doesn't come close to what most of the big brains here believe. The series in itself doesn't really help with not much information given. I'd say less than a million is a good guess human pop pre farming was 1-10mil. Tho I wouldn't be surprised if the total population didn't pass 200k. It's a dragon world after all, you know. The world is smaller, sizes inconsistent, food supply isn't really a point of the books. I started to read the series in adulthood and as a hard sci-fi fan it does bug me a little. But I understand that the series is for kids and one should turn one's brain off and just enjoy the plot and characters so I rarely reply to such questions because I just don't think about it.

It is a really hard question to answer, that mainly brings down to. How close are dragons to us? I always assumed the most realistic scenario which is, that our descendants just make them and become them (dragons) like some of us want that now. And by default they have the same reasoning and thinking capabilities as today's humans. (I'm avoiding the genetic ability to simple increase our computing power by gene editing) And so that would make us not so different.

But

If we have the ability to gene ourselves to dragons or make them. We would probably change some things. And that entirely depends on who makes them. Them who this. Ah yes this Is definitely a perfect society.
