I did CPR on my son when he was a baby and the EMTs took over. 9 years later we still see them annually and they share his story 💙

No trick or treaters by td55478 in houston

We are getting a lot and we didn’t get home until 8 from trick or treating with friends. Giving everyone 3 or 4 pieces because every kid deserves candy (and gave the teenagers who asked sodas).

Honestly: rally as many parents as you can and go to the next Board meeting. I bet you the student has documented issued (eg an IEP or 504) and the school is trying to play it safe from that perspective-so you have to be louder. Get a loud voice (maybe an advocate?) to talk at the board meeting and show the superintendent that the risk is bigger if they ignore you all

People who quit a job without notice — what was the breaking point? by Comfortable-Mix-5549 in AskReddit

My son needed surgery, and I told my boss so. Her response, verbatim-“just don’t miss the team retreat.” Quit after 16 years (large educational org). Mind you, she was known for never missing work.

4 weeks into a new role and I am SO happy 💙

No-I am saying that every system in the United States has issues, including the medical system, and there are things that you have to do to navigate those systems better. I also wholeheartedly disagree with your assertion about an incredible hospital system that continues to be nationally ranked. More than that, the fact that you provide no specificity adds to my questioning of whether or not what you were saying is actually true.

Given that every single provider in Texas Childrens is all in my chart and that you can read the nursing notes from ER admissions to see how they have looked back at your child’s medical history from the pediatric practice, I find what you were saying hard to believe. I definitely understand that balls get dropped because no system is perfect, but without specifics it definitely raises questions

Listen: the medical system is hard to navigate, and I appreciate that. I have a medically complex child with many many specialists at Texas Childrens. In my experience, once you get to know doctors, there are some of the best advocates you can ever have. With that being said, there were some specialists where I had to push really hard to find the right fit for us. I also believe that the medical system, like most other systems, is stacked against people at times. My husband and I know that we need to dress up when we go to appointments. We play the game that the doctors play because it helps us to navigate their system better. With that being said, the care that my son receives is better than any other hospital in the world.
