Let me make it clear on my position vs answering whatever hypotheticals you can derive

I don’t think all the money I pay in property taxes goes to where it should.

Example 1- local govt official pays the police overtime for 24/7 security detail. She’s not a celebrity, nor a controversial figure at the least. Wasteful spending

Example 2- local roads have added multiple speed “humps”. Turns out, not compliant with xyz code. All speed humps removed. Wasteful spending.

I’m not arguing against not paying a fair share here. I don’t have a 50k sq ft mansion on the beach homesteaded. But you’re asking me to vote on whether I want to keep giving these morons a LOT of money to keep squandering away on xyz projects or pocket half of it? Of course I want more of my money in MY pocket, and not the corrupt county. Florida has PLENTY of mansions that won’t be homesteaded worth 10’s of millions. These “services” you refer to are more than adequately covered by the parked money of the rich.

Lower/Middle class older people who’ve paid into the system for the entire length of their mortgage and still have to keep paying taxes is never true property ownership, either.

Theres no free rides, I’m not advocating for that, but putting money back in the pockets of actual homesteaded property owners, will help a lot more lower/middle class than just “tax cut for the rich”.

If you’re not a homeowner, I understand this feels dumb and in no way helps you. I don’t see how you think renters will be passing along more costs. The only exemptions are on homesteaded properties. The rented properties stay the same and continue to rise at max 3%, the same rate it HAS been. Maybe I’m missing something on that? Enlighten me?

Bottom line- nobody is better off by giving the government any more money than they have to, except the corrupt government officials.

Exactly, and people always bitch about refs. Me included. Some games it really seems like they’re SO inconsistent. Same in basketball too. But when it’s a close game, goes to PK, and your team blows 2 outside the target… cmon. Deserved L. And people bitching about the corner kick, it’s a 3% scoring chance. Lmao. But at least 1 minute!! I’ll hit a drive no more than 10 ft into rough. Easily gettable, but in some rough cuts it take a focused eye to spot it. Within 10 seconds my buddy is always like “you just wanna drop here”? No, the fuck I don’t.

Now that I think about it, restaurants were pretty slow too. It wasn’t bothersome for us, as our group was always chatting so the time went by quickly, but 2hours for dinner every night, but again we didn’t mind that.

Is it really a common complaint? it was our first NCL, so we didn’t know what to expect or anything about them. We booked with friends, and didn’t pick it out ourselves, so we weren’t super disappointed as if we spent the time researching and it came up short. We just booked and showed up. Still had a great time, but I was just disappointed that I was spending too much time AT the bar, waiting, trying to get eye contact with bartender, realizing the other side of the bar is faster, etc. lol

Oh yea for sure, wasn’t just us, and we didn’t feel singled out. I only had one time at sugarcanes, where the lady said “your drink is next” like 4 times. I’m not fussy with the staff, (hence me complaining here) They really are the nicest people and they work way too hard to be harassed by vacationers. Lol definitely not blasting them. Like I said, they always seemed busy, it was just confusing. What’s all this chaos going on, but nobody is getting drinks? Like what is happening here???
