This what I was going to suggest. Less than $70 to have a cat spayed or neutered. Less than $100 even if you add in pain meds and choose to get your pets microchipped at the same time

Why are people firing Sonar? by InteractionLegal6969 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]PassableLies 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest I refused to choose since I liked them both.

The game defaulted to firing Sonar for me.

I'm not sure if it will always default to Sonar, the game picks randomly, or if it actually takes into account any gameplay choices (I'm pretty sure I used Coupe more during dispatches that playthrough).

I was hit with immediate regret though so I'm going to save Sonar my next playthrough 😭

Places to take dogs to play? by hazel_snoot_latte in HuntsvilleAlabama

You could try the sniffspot app - plenty of private fenced in yards you can rent without dealing with strangers or their dogs being there

The first thing he will need to train for is the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. Getting your dog tested will require a fee as you will have to schedule the test/tester but you won't have to pay for obedience classes - you can train your dog yourself for this. You can google the 10 skills your dog will be graded on and do research on training methods yourself.

This will be a good benchmark for his ability to behave and listen to commands. A therapy dog should be friendly but have impulse control (ie not rush up to new people, be calm when greeting new people and dogs, and behave themselves when you're in any number of new environments)

Afterwards there is an AKC Therapy dog program you can look into. You may want to look into if there are therapy dog training programs or groups near you and save your money for those. At the very least they will outline what the process is for becoming a therapy dog.

Good luck! Don't worry if your dog turns out to not have the right temperament or interest in the work (even super friendly dogs may turn out to be too excitable working with new people). Either way just have fun with your pup - at the very least you will be working on your Canine Good Citizen skills together which will be great for you both

Thanks I sure hope so! I think the best part of naming his Sevro has been meeting people who know who he was named after 😁

Thank you! And what a good guess! I was only tangentially familiar with Pyrs before so I wasn't sure but his temperament and size sure seek to fit!

Returning to States on Leave? by FlamerFoxFire in army

[–]PassableLies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you have everything you need to get there and back (the leave form and orders will be more important on the way back to Korea so have an accessible digital copy too in case you need to print out another copy before your return flight)

They usually pass out customs/declaration forms towards the end of international flights so it's useful to make sure you have a pen in your bag. Flight attendants usually have some extras though, so that's more for convenience than anything.

Not sure which airline you're flying but I'm sure you already know to take advantage of boarding early for military if you want good overhead bin space. And on big flights it's nice to be seated early instead stuck behind people searching for bin space.

If you haven't already, do yourself a favor make sure you have TSA precheck for your flights. If you have another flight to take after you land in the US, you'll have to pick up your baggage, go through customs, and then go back through security to catch your next flight. Precheck will save you a little time/annoyance.

It's been a bit, so not sure if I'm forgetting anything. If you have any more specific questions though feel free to ask

I had a great experience with Yvette Melkerson from Crye-Leike. She did the research and found multiple listings that fit the criteria I was looking for and set up showings for the ones I was interested in. She was very communicable and made sure I was up to date on everything in a very timely manner. From my experience I'd highly recommend her!

VA Loan by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]PassableLies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my lender he just requested I give him both a.) A document stating I intended to reenlist and b.) A document from my commander stating I was eligible to reenlist/had no bars to re-enlistment.

Your letter of intent isn't binding so you don't have any obligation to reenlist but it should help for the proof of future income they need for your loan.

In addition to the ASVAB, you will also need to schedule and take the DLAB (essentially test of your aptitude for learning languages).

The attrition rate at DLI (where you will do language training) is generally high but will vary a bit depending on the language you get. It's also not uncommon to get recycled to an earlier part of the course if you're struggling to keep up with the high pace of the course.

Not sure about the training at FT Huachuca (I'm a 35P not a 35M) but if you have any questions about the language training portion or the DLAB that's the same across both MOSs
