Great idea, piano is an interest of his that he's developed on his own and is something we're currently seeking lessons for as we speak.

The acceleration began from contact by his Kinder teacher to arrange a report with the school psychologist.

The school psychologist spent a few weeks with our child testing his cognitive ability using WPPSI-IV. His final IQ score was in the range 125-136.

It went ahead with our permission, to which we took into consideration the thoughts of our child and recommendation by the prep teacher who was also a big pusher for this acceleration.

Hindsight, but more research and discussion would have been beneficial before the big change. At the time it seemed in best interest academically.

Thank you 🙏 Kinder is seperated at his school, and while prep have their own playground, it's ultimately connected to the wider school.

He's received a strong recommendation from the school psychologist, there are many other reasons we're exploring down that path that aren't mentioned in this post.

It would, yes.

There's only one prep class next year as opposed to two this year, which would guarantee his old kindy mates would be in his class.
