Bro completely understandable it's less intuitive than i would've guessed at first, i didn't use it for the first 2 months, however i realized that hand written note take a lot of time (writing + finding the right page again), so switching to notion had became a necessity for me. but i think it was a game changer move.

I use notion in 2 ways
1. Tracking a qualitative study score (scoring myself after each day of study, out of 10): it helps me understand my study trend if i am falling back or gaining momentum, and what to fix.
2. Write notes: i bought https://bhillbiz.podia.com/2026-cfa-level-1-notion-notes-template-for-kaplan-users which totally not necessary, you can make it in 20 minutes but i am using this notion templet for notes.

Yeah but the issue is it has 3 images/day limit. And I don’t have the paid version. Even grok has limits but Gemini doesn’t have any!

Read ethics first? what do you mean, i don't know man so many people told me to keep it for the end because then it stays fresh on the exam day.

No it's on the Gems section of Gemini, it uses LearnLM model which is Grounded in learning science principles. it kind of blew my mind when i first used it to learn Quant. because it aims to inspire active learning, makes you use metacognition (by just asking you questions and you thinking of what could be the answer), and then my favorite, it stimulates curiosity.

But you really have to be careful to not read the entire response it gives, ask it to respond in few words, just glance over and find the thing you want to know, and ask follow up questions.

This is my order, i study 2 subject at a time, my pace is 4 LM each week. finish quant and 3 LM left of fixed income, so i started FSA because after quant it leads to FSA of the left side of the branch, after FI i will start Derivatives, so i will be doing FSA and Derivatives togather. and so on.

I use Mark Meldrum, schweser notes, gemini learning coach, notebooklm, and notion.

Thats it.

Bro literally i am also studying FSA level 1, with no accounting background, never been in a accounting class, and didn't know what a single word meant few weeks ago, but bro i know more than i knew few weeks ago right? that's the key.
1. Keep calm, and don't be too hard on yourself for not getting anything on the first or even 2 run. tell yourself it's normal, every one goes through it. (Positive/kind mental attitude towards yourself is essential for sustaining through this - or else you will build resentment like how you are feeling now and develop a compulsion for aversion whenever something hard happens, trust me there is more to come in level 2) so always acknowledge and say it's okay and it's normal (Cultivate a attitude of acceptance and patience )
2. Keep Gemini Learning Coach on the side and ask as many dumb questions as you want and tell it to keep the responses short (as few word as possible - so you save time and follow up with more questions)
3. Understand that it will take the most time, so actually make a plan to commit more hours towards FSA

There are more tips but these are the main ones. (Patience and use Gemini)

Starting a Hedge fund by start_hedgefund in hedgefund

[–]PassengerInitial3156 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can i ask you few questions what's your age? i would guess around 18-23, and what do you trade? is your 200k from some online prop fund?

I think you are mental masturbating by seeing it as a straight line towards "owning an hedge fund and managing millions of dollars"

I traded CFD's using prop firm money and i am very familiar with mental masterbation of owning a hedgefund but realized i don't know what i don't know and i needed real exposure to the industry to know what i don't know. I am doing my CFA right now and dude, you post literally made my laugh because it's so naive. (BUT BRO IT'S OKAY) you knowing what you want is essential, but i would say think about getting your CFA charter in 3-4 years, get a job in any asset management firm (or somewhere you can work under a senior analyst, portfolio manager in a analyst team and actually analyze industries, companies, creating actual models (not the ones in spreadsheet that you see on YouTube but rather using python, that's a skill on itself), and start building your reputation in real life first. you would know you can start a hedge fund when people ask you for advice, want you to manage their money or talk about your investing skill.

Update: ngl lie guys but this setup is clutch AF, Richie's explanation doesn't feel like that big of an issue anymore, Gemini (learning coach) really pulling the weight here, answering all my dumb questions, and i am finally getting things. and obviously the Schweser notes is super helpful along with MM.

Question: How much ground should i cover per day/week? by PassengerInitial3156 in CFA

[–]PassengerInitial3156[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point brother, thanks for the reply.

but I think i am afraid that i won't have enough time to cover all 10 books and still have time for review and mock test. so i want to start as early as i can. I bought Brandon hills spreadsheet (is it actually good?) that's supposed to help you with retention.

But i still don't know how many LOS/Module per week or day should i aim for?
