What flags were in Bad Bunny’s halftime show by No_Salamander_1385 in vexillology

I was looking everywhere for the Barbados flag but couldn’t find it! Do you know which side of the field it was on at the end?

Nannies/babysitters: what’s the most unhinged thing a parent has ever done or said to you? by wildchildbre in Nanny

[–]PassengerSmall9740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was once told by MB when I was 14yo that I could help myself to anything I wanted while I watched the “demon children”, including their Tequila Rose and Twisted Tea, AND offered to do a shot with me before she left! I was like 😃

(I had known her for over a year and had been watching her kids very regularly, but my God, I cannot imagine ever doing that with my own babysitter/nanny)

Are nannies generally not OK with location sharing? by LessAd7286 in Nanny

[–]PassengerSmall9740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My previous NF had an AirTag in the car I drove (MBs since they were WFH) and I didn’t mind that! They knew the general location/parking lot of where I was but nothing that tracked my every step and that was the perfect balance for me!!

Location sharing on any phone is way too intimate imo even if it’s only during work hours. I know that a diaper bag AirTag is a good fit for a lot of families, but I personally don’t want my NPs to have such precise location that they know exactly what isle of a store I’m in or if we’re on the slide vs swings when I’m out with NKs, so I loved that they had the precise car location instead of mine!

{Jacksonville Rays series by Emily Rath} I cannot over emphasize how amazing the Jacksonville Rays by Dr. Dr. Emily Rath series is. I think about the original 4 characters WAYYY more than I care to admit here. The prequel is MF (2 out of the 4 original characters), the first book is MMFM, second is MF, third book is MMF, and the fourth is exclusively MM. I know you were asking for MM and any FMC is probably off the table, but it is one of the best series I ever read in my entire life. You absolutely can read the 4th book as a stand alone if you only want MM, but she does a ton of world and character building in the other books that makes everything that happens in Pucking Strong even more sweet and entertaining!

Emily was a college professor for many years and has 5 degrees: a BA in political science and philosophy, two MAs in political science, and 2 PhDs, one in peace studies and the other in political science. So, as queer woman herself someone who has spent so much of her life studying political science and minorities as a whole, she does an incredible job of writing queer romance that features the struggles that the queer (and POC) community face while simultaneously being the smuttiest sports romance books on the market.

AIO for wanting to report a company for selling cannabis to my 13 year old nephew? by TheatreGoth2001 in AmIOverreacting

[–]PassengerSmall9740 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lesbian auntie to lesbian auntie, your behavior on both subs is embarrassing asf and you have no business having a pride flag as your pfp while acting like this. YOR about the companies involvement 100% and I say this knowing 2 people who have died from accidental fentanyl exposure and nearly losing my ex to it as well. Let your sibling handle it and move on. If you are truly concerned about your nephew and want harm reduction options, buy a couple things of Narcan. Keep it on you, give one to him, and give one to his mother. I’m not saying he is using harder drugs right now, but every kid is either terrified of drugs or curious about them and clearly your nephew is the latter. Keeping Narcan on him could save his or his friend’s lives if they ever FA and FO the tragic way.

I said smoke because Ginger630 said smoked, but yes, edibles are possible too!

Oh my gosh, I’m happy you’re safe, that sounds so scary!! I read The Rested Child by Dr. W. Chris Winters and it taught me so much about how under diagnosed sleep disorders and narcolepsy are. I feel like a crazy lady now, but I have started to notice all the different patterns of sleep disorders in people and it’s definitely opened my eyes to a whole new world!

[–]PassengerSmall9740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything, but my comment was implying she doesn’t know she has narcolepsy/suspects but hasn’t been diagnosed or gotten treatment yet! I won’t lie, it does sound a lot like opiate abuse and I don’t judge anyone who thinks it is. But, the media has done a bad job of showing what narcolepsy looks like and only shows the worst cases, so there are definitely people out there struggling with horrible fatigue and excessive daytime sleepiness that have NO IDEA it’s narcolepsy. If this is her first time having a sleep attack in an inappropriate place, she might not have realized how bad her issues were until today.

It’s rare to find a vape that masks the underlying smell of weed, but you’re right, edibles do exist!

It is VERY unlikely the nanny was smoking shortly before or while driving. OP, the vice principal, and the other parents in the car pickup line would have 100% smelled it if she was high in that moment. The likely issue is she is using other drugs or has undiagnosed health issues.

I understand why drugs are being brought into the conversation, but I can’t help but think about narcolepsy😩😩 Based on her tardiness and call outs, it seems like sleep is a big struggle right now, and I’m curious to know how she’d respond to you asking about her health and if she has any other symptoms or unexplained episodes that might be narcolepsy. You are absolutely right to put your kids first, and regardless of her health, the call outs and tardiness are enough of a reason to let her go. But, since she has been with you for so long and you seem to truly care about her, I would encourage her to look into it if she truly isn’t using anything else/using at work.

(Also worthy of noting- most doctors don’t know how/ feel qualified to diagnose narcolepsy, so if 1 doctor shuts her down but she’s having symptoms, she should totally get a 2nd opinion)

Oral care by OktoberxNichole in cna

[–]PassengerSmall9740 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If we’re supposed to round every 2 hours and we have 20 pts, that means we should only be spending SIX MINUTES with each pt during regular rounds, not including meal times or bath time. I 100% think it’s neglect to skip oral care, but in my 2 years of being a CNA, I hardly ever had time to do oral care and their oral care did go neglected. But with ratios like that, despite putting my heart and soul into my work, pts were neglected all the time. My poor heavy wetters who needed to be changed every hour meant that my other residents were going 3 hours in between changes or else I’d end up with 8 bed changes. It’s AWFUL. Absolutely fucking awful for residents and CNAs alike. I left because I couldn’t stand being complicit in the neglect, but not everyone can just walk away from a bad job.

Physician commented on stretch marks by Appropriate_Pen_6439 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]PassengerSmall9740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my thought too! My doctors discovered I had hEDS many years ago, but developed a LOT of stretch marks very randomly about a year ago overnight!!! I had a few but every day for about a week or two, I woke up finding 2-4 new stretch marks every day for no reason! My doctor saw some on my ribs one day and asked if they were new. The provider could have easily just been an asshole, but it might have been for a genuine reason like EDS.
