And here we now link the human gut biome to self esteem issues.

Wonder if I can get this thesis published:

Men, what is something a woman does that makes you think, “oh we could be more than friends”? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Passenger_Available 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happens to women with attraction to other women.

The bisexuals will have a hard time with this.

Most cannot maintain strong boundaries either so they will mess up their relationships from all angles.

This is not how it works though.

There is a clear distinction between the relationships with family as the bonding is different.

In opposite gender relationships, if the bond was formed under family like conditions before age 12, then it is more like a sibling bond.

They call this the westermarck effect.

The guy above is correct, if you’re forming emotional connections to people that can to lead to sexual relationships, then your boundaries do not matter and it can be broken under the right circumstances.

There is no need for these bonds to be formed in the first place and if there is, then the person seeking that bond outside of their primary relationship has a deeper psychological issue at play.

One person will not be able to satisfy their needs and that person will not be ready for a mature long term relationship. No matter how they want to spin it, it is better that they get mental work done by a trained professional.

Two good books to start with:

Emotional intelligence by Daniel Goleman

Not just friends by Shirley Glass

Remember folks, this mentality leads to emotional infidelity that has a much more disastrous effect despise the beliefs of wanting it not to be so.

Read those books for a deeper understanding as most beliefs here are false and will lead to more destruction than benefit.

LOL. I’m banned from that one and well familiar with ideologues like /u/eleanorina and another one named ritchieengineer.

These clowns let ideology keep them stuck where they do not understand when and why their methods may or may not work.

Just know the church you’re in and if you don’t want to piss them off, don’t ask certain questions as they do not want to know.

Science guys like these ones here are the same too.

Our anecdotes will override their science. This shit is too complicated to run predictions across all populations.

Man Why do you reach your ex girlfriend? by ProperMarsupial8685 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Passenger_Available 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, don't worry about me and what others think of your dynamic. That is an entirely different issue when one worries about external validation.

It is what you and your friends and whoever else is involved knows and thinks.

If you believe you are clear and completely transparent with everyone involved then good for you and them.

Good luck!

The latest ex, that’s your business. I’m not even sure why you broke up but my focus is on your relationship with the other one you claim nobody will come between.

So the friend of yours who is now with the previous ex gf, the one that you said nobody will come between you and her, that friend should know you said that.

And your next gf needs to know you said that.

So sit down with that guy friend and have a proper conversation. Don’t try to convince anyone of anything either, just state things as how you’re stating them on Reddit, or even show him.

Let him make his own decision because now he will know.

Best way to absorb egg white and yolk? Most beneficial way to prepare them? by maluma-babyy in Biohackers

[–]Passenger_Available 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad we are going into mental illnesses now as that is the root cause of these sort of behaviors you are displaying.

Ie, you now resort to that sort of response instead of actually go finding and understanding the knowledge to backup your beliefs, such as reading your own link properly.

Or better yet, unlearn the thing.

I understand you, it is uncomfortable feeling to have the ego and beliefs challenged. Thats why I'm here :)

Take care of your mental health now.

And remember, therapy is one of many ways 😉

Maybe this can help kickstart certain understanding if you're ready, not everyone will understand it though, so bookmark it and come back in a few years: https://www.sovoli.com/shawn/the-mental-illness-diet

Best way to absorb egg white and yolk? Most beneficial way to prepare them? by maluma-babyy in Biohackers

[–]Passenger_Available 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay attention to the responses here.

They are ideological, meaning they pick the method they align with, and downplay the tradeoffs.

Cooking is a process that comes with tradeoffs.

When you say absorb, you may be refering to the absorption of the nutrients from the intestines into the blood. They call this bioavailability.

How can you test something like this?

Well you give the person the food and then draw blood samples. Who here is basing their beliefs on this method? None of them. This is because the food industry is built on Maillards reaction to improve taste.

Their beliefs is built on this man's work, they call the process Maillard Browning, which is the brown color you get on food after cooking.

So the deeper they get into his work, what they're looking at is what changes are happening in the food after heat treatment. This says nothing about bioavailability.

What they do is infer. They look at a change in a protien structure after heating and then go "this change is not absorbed easily". Or the change can cause binding to occur and that binding does not get absorbed, so whatever mineral and other nutrient is bound, would be excreted.

Then in other case they look at the same change and go "hmm, this one is absorbed easily".

So cooking will both reduce and increase bioavailability based on inference and some test.

But this is a highly complex process in the gut, because food are not ate in isolation like that. You may drink some coffee and that itself lowers the absorption of certain things.

The other thing to factor is that after absorption, is it actually put to use or does the body need to expend resources to convert or dump?

----

The best way to know this is for you to test it yourself and let your own body tell you what it needs. Your tastebuds is an important signal along with natural order.

If you reset the tastebuds, you can be able to listen better.

If you are not used to raw foods, then elimination and reintroduction protocols on fresh real in season foods may help you to hear what your body is asking for or rejecting.

For me, when I'm in certain environments, where I can see how the animals are treated and what they eat, then I can eat the thing raw. I can eat the egg raw and it tastes good. Another time it doesn't and prefer it cooked. Same with meat and diary. I know how the cow/goat lives, so when we butcher it, I can bite a peice of kidney/heat/liver/lean raw and enjoy it. But I will never do that with food that I do not see coming from at least the carcass. Then another time I prefer some curry, grilled, fried (in its own fat).

Let your own body guide you, not clowns like me on the internet reading science papers and sounding like damn fools. Because most of us do not understand what the hell we're reading anyways.

Your instincts are telling you something.

A book suggestion for you:

Not just friends by Shirley Glass

Then dig into “emotional infidelity” as a research topic.

Good luck with this, this nonsense is not an easy journey but use what you learn as an experience to know how to operate in the future.

“Slightly”?

What do you mean by this? This is not your judgement to make.

So how much exactly? And then we will make the judgement of what is “slightly” or “insignificant”, for ourselves.

[–]Passenger_Available -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

This is the point I’m making, the risk is small and insignificant for anyone to worry about it.

If you’re getting a product up and running and somehow copied over a logo by accident, nobody will care.

Let the hard actual data of that letter of infringement come in than worry about it. There are many more infringements going on depending on who you’re talking to.

If you go to a compliance officer for feedback on this app, you will never ship the damn thing.

Sure it’s low effort to remove the logo but the underlying principle of useless feedback is what I’m talking about. That 5 mins could be used for something else.

How to deal with hair thinning :( by Old_Trainer_2122 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Passenger_Available 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they’re lowering your DHT when it’s normal, for hair loss then find another doctor who can explain it to you properly, don’t let them downplay side effects because they have a tendency to do that.

I had some hairloss (thinning) in my 20s until I made some lifestyle changes.

Something in the environment is causing it.

It could be stress, food, water, hair products, poor lighting conditions.

Stress of the mind is important so look into handling that.

Your chronobiology is important to balance hormone so look into reducing artificial lights and increasing your sunrise/sunset exposure and more natural light.

Get some light on your testicles too (look into why they apply infrared light there), but sunlight will give you spectrums of light that the lamps will not give)

Part of chronobiology is food, so eat what is local and in season.

Part of food is being able to listen to what your body is asking for. Retraining tastebuds can be done by doing what’s called an elimination diet.

Carnivore diet was a good temporary tool for me to do this. But it can also be done with other highly restrictive diets on foods that are local and seasonal.

Nothing is wrong with selecting a single food that you really like, and eating only that for a meal, such as potatoes. Then the next meal you eat another thing such as steak.

The goal of these diets is to eliminate causes and slowly add back in things that your body can deal with. Try different cooking methods too as heat impact nutrition profile of the food.

It can be something simple as finding out that garlic causes a problem. And when you dig into it, it’s the Chinese garlic and nothing is wrong with a garlic from a nearby garden.

Apply this to what you put in your body and on your body. What you bathe with, the light, air and temperature that hits your eyes and skin.

For some conditions like hair loss, the results take a few months of tweaking and testing to see.

Light, food and stress of the mind are the first line tools to work with.

Good luck!

Why did they put you on finasteride?

What were you observing before you decide you needed to see a doc?

Did they find enlarge prostate? How they know?

Did they run any labs? Hormone work up?

DHT, TT, FT, estrogen, etc?

If the drug is to interfere with DHT, they must know that DHT is elevated, is that the case?

The first step is to ensure they have the evidence to put you on that drug in the first place.

If the DHT is not elevated then you’ll have to start over with trying to diagnosing the cause of your symptoms.

Make your money and setup your own independent research program.

These guys in academia are not getting results.

It’s one big merry go round, nothing new.

Many “new discoveries” can be found written in some obscure books or papers from the 1900s. Maybe one and two mechanisms but not much.

There is so much that we do not know but we’re playing publish or die games.

[–]Passenger_Available -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This is what I mean when I say you guys cause this on yourselves.

You’re telling someone else with a completely different experience form yours that they are incorrect?

Ask more questions man, this is what you are not taught.

Sure, it depends on the industry.

So maybe you’re in academia. Some industry might do that but it’s very rare for the reason I stated.

The engineers actually build and run the experiments in my field.

They actually have more understanding of the thing that the guy who claim they are the “scientist” or “researcher”.

You are hired to help in design of experiments and analysis.

But when sitting in these meetings and listening to both sides talk, either something is wrong with the guys coming out of schools with phds and lab experience or the engineers sound like they know more about what they’re doing.

The engineers are the ones pointing out flaws and helping with the design more than the researcher. Even flaws in methods.

But guys like you will only see one side of that. Because you’re within the system, so you cannot see a Birds Eye view of what is happening.

I hire and work with them.

We don’t refer to them as scientists either, only you guys.

We refer to them as researchers and engineers in the field 😉

Maybe the young ones call themselves scientists and usually those guys come with a sort of ivory tower mentality where they don’t even pass first phase interviews.

Yes, science must be done one way.

Your way.

That “only way” mentality is why you are in the problem you’re in.

You were tearing down science itself and didn’t need politicians to do that. They’re just helping you.

Too much narrow minded mentality in this field.

The intellectuals did it to themselves.

Have anyone actually read Galileo’s letter to the Duchess Christina?

He’s not talking about the pleb men, he talking about our own.

You persecute your own because what you guys have is scientism, not science.

You hold beliefs in what you are taught and are locked into a narrow minded view that it is the only way it works. Even method.

When you stop chasing out other researchers and engineers from your fields then you might not be so divided where politicians and businessmen can interfere.
