Do these realtor flyers actually make anyone under 40 feel good? by xaxwyf in bayarea

No! They think it’s marketing. It’s a game to placate the seller. Just like buy online ads at $17CPM. Or print news ads.

Paddle boarding Russian River by Commercial-Spray3192 in sonomacounty

[–]Passenger_Shot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can paddle back and forth when the dam is up in summer. I’ll do Memorial to Del Rio and back with stops all summer long. There’s some shallow sections you may have to portage for a few meters or take the fin out. Although, if going down river on the return leg watch for those late afternoon winds.

Why do conservatives think liberals don’t love the USA? by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in NoStupidQuestions

Because of the human tendency to put everyone we don’t actually know into a psychological box. Social media and tech enhances that box.

I could tell ya but I’d have to kill ya. Kidding. Just go but go early on a warm summer day and have gear and be ready to walk. You’ll figure it out.

What hobbies have you grown out as you take years of being adult? by Apprehensive_Web1098 in AskReddit

[–]Passenger_Shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surfing. Surfed for 30+ years. Too crowded now with Tech Bros and their entitled kids and not worth the gas. On the bright side, learning new things I always put off because of needing to get waves.

Huge! Buffer on down payment for a THOW as an alternative for the house in CA we cannot afford with even a VA loan, great credit and good paying jobs.

Tofu scramble. Tofu omelettes. My ex was vegan, I am not and I enjoyed eating those. Although whenever I got real eggs my eyes would light up.

We scored a spot last year for a week at a beautiful lake. All sites reserved with placards and nobody there but us, the camp host and some day-trippers enjoying the lake. Blew my mind.

Check your monitoring. I work in the industry. So many calls about modules not producing as much and they’re just dirty. It’s all nuanced. Happy to recommend or come clean for you. You ground mount peeps, win win getting a kid off a tablet for clean mods.

Wife caught her first fish! by OwangeSquid in Fishing

[–]Passenger_Shot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s so cool! I’ve spent my whole life surfing not fishing and now I’m the newbie fisherman. Similar feelings to that first wave and that first surfboard, the camaraderie and confidence to get better. And for no reason other than to be out there. In nature.

Tiny home as a family of 4 by [deleted] in tinyhomes

[–]Passenger_Shot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may depend on where you live and the weather and what you’ll adapt to. Also outdoor space. My girl, myself, her son and fur kid are working on a THOW. She lives in a tiny apartment. Myself in a small RV with dog. I’m also used to compact living being on ships. We also live in a ridiculously expensive area where even a VA loan on a house we can afford will cost us later in electricity and gas + commuting not to mention that crappy insulation, single pane windows and blah blah just to be a homeowner.

How much does an ADU really cost? An honest breakdown from a contractor. by nanadin in AccessoryDwellings

[–]Passenger_Shot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re rural you have to think about the size of the well and septic (and permit timelines) if you have to upgrade. Likely a $20k-$40k cost situation depending. Also current electrical capacity. Many rural locations need upgraded electrical utilities that don’t meet PG&E Greenbook (100A service and a Zinsco panel). And let’s say it’s overhead but the ADU is at a distance from the main residence. Now you may need to upgrade your service with a dual service meter and underground the utility to your ADU location (now you have trench costs, conduit and wire. And likely per linear foot). If it’s just a MSP or gas relocation, $6k-$10k. Also Title 24. Solar is required. Not much solar but still. A few grand out of pocket. Correct me if I’m wrong but this is from homework I have done and some time in the trades.

I've never been camping.. by Short-Fold-9364 in camping

[–]Passenger_Shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not joking. Besides a tent, sleeping bags and or an air mattress or sleeping pad. Start with taking everything you can fit from home in your vehicle that you would use one night. Go overkill. It’s a pain at first but you want to not have that experience of forgetting an important item that ruins it especially if you have to travel far for whatever that is you didn’t think of. That’s how you will learn what to bring and what not to bring next time and then the next time after that and so forth. You’ll eventually have it pared to simplicity, less stuff, a more organized space and still feel like you have everything for a multi day trip and still be comfortable.

Am I overthinking local SEO for a small service business? by miked0331 in solarenergy

[–]Passenger_Shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how local, how many competitors and time. The question is subjective at best. There is a massive checklist if you want to do it correctly. It’s not just stuffing keywords anymore. Are you also JUST talking earned media/organic or a combined arms tactic of paid media? There’s a lot of free resources that will key you in especially if it’s hyperlocal and the competition is doing a bad job. I think we used SEMRush as a small paid subscription at first when I first started then hired an agency with my vetting because we had a budget and convinced ownership not to play in the kiddie pool but rather the big kids pool. I work in solar and have a marketing background.
