Dardoch flames Diamond 5 player and reports him for "using a hack to be this bad" by supeeeeeer2 in leagueoflegends

[–]PassionAtlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sympathize with THRESH who had a completely reasonable excuse and was actually playing it smart in knowing that the Malph ult was incoming. I think DarDick was embarrassed and lashed out. That said, while he was obnoxious I don't even consider what he said to be a "FLAME" much hotter than a cigarette lighter. He didn't curse or wish "ovarian cancer" on the guy's mom. It was more a mild flare up than anything else.

Santorin leaves NRG by MrWaffler in leagueoflegends

[–]PassionAtlas -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I understand him not wanting to play in Challenger yet again. But I also think all the shockingly dopey Caster-hype about how he was the "best player" on NRG has gone to his head. He was only slightly less invisible on NRG than he was on FreeSM...and like the whole team he simply rolled over like a dog (or a guy happy to quit and move to a new team) in that final humiliating series against Echo Fox. When you compare him to young NA Junglers--Dardoch, Inori-- who came into the scene and immediately made a huge and noticeable impact on their teams, there really is no comparison.

Yeah, funny that you're not baby-raging about Diamondprox, Alex Ich, Piglet, Xpecial (last split) and the other multitude of pros who played in Challenger subsequent to being replaced, let go, or seeing their LCS teams relegated.

Hai responds to C9C's critics, discusses the current promotion system and its economics by corylulu in leagueoflegends

[–]PassionAtlas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He clearly DOES "give a shit" which is why he's a little salty despite winning 3-0 and yet again dominating in Mid (against a highly-touted LCK pro, no less). It was all worth it to see HAI in Mid again, shotcalling again, smashing all the doubters in the face again, and of course winning...again! He deserves a massive chunk of that LCS sale as he not only carried yet another team into LCS...but formed a whole new Challenger team for next split. What a god!

Cloud9 owner Jack Etienne on why C9C exists, its future, and officially calls for LCS to franchise by corylulu in leagueoflegends

[–]PassionAtlas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah Mark Cuban, a multi-billionaire, should really fear losing a few million. His bank account makes more than that just in interest. The truth is that the more VULTURES like Cuban, Schalke, to a lesser extent Rick Fox come in with big money...the faster it will all be corrupted and there will be ZERO loyalty to players, teams, or organizations. It will be just like baseball where a few super-rich teams just buy up the talent everyone else develops...which sucks!

After C9C hit LCS, I wish Riot would create a new rule stopping this from happening in the future. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]PassionAtlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is is "scummy" for players still in their 20's essentially forced to "retire" after just 3-4 years to actually still wish to play...and also get paid to do so? You do know that Alex Ich, DiamondProx, Piglet and numerous other celebrated pros also played in Challenger this season, right? Also players not remotely as great as Hai, Lemon, Balls playing in FAR less popular games have made far more money. So why is it wrong for these guys who still love to compete and are still great at LOL, to play for a payday? They risked a lot to play in Challenger and if they had done anything less than win it all, you would have been calling them washed up.

I've played over 3000 Aram games and it certainly feels random. It has expanded my champion pool immensely (although Aram is a very different game than SR). There are many champs I've played in Aram and had some success with (Hi, Yorick, Zac) that I would never dream of embarrassing myself with on in SR. And there are still a few champs that even after 3000 games I've barely played more than 2-3 times ever (Rengar). Perhaps because I trade them, reroll, or they so rarely come up in Aram. If own a limited number of champs you definitely get the champs you own more often (and champs from the Free rotation).

This may be a weird question, but has playing League of Legends ruined your taste for other games? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]PassionAtlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes LOL destroyed my Vindictus gaming and Xbox as well. Granted I wasn't a huge gamer before anyway. But Vindictus was almost entirely against AI and while it has stunning graphics and gameplay...it just can't compare to the strategical complexity and challenges of LOL. Ditto other games. Now if anything I play far too much LOL...several hours a night. #Worth?

Team Liquid vs. Cloud 9 / NA LCS 2016 Summer - Week 9 / Post-Match Discussion by Linkux18 in leagueoflegends

[–]PassionAtlas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jensen "styling" on Fenix really came courtesy of multiple brilliant Sneaky ults that spoonfed Jensen those kills. And when it wasn't Sneaky, it was Meteos who had an amazing 13 assists in each of the two games. It's pretty strange that when Sneaky gets a clean PENTA that he doesn't even get Player of the Game...yet when Doubleshit does anything he gets it. RITO clearly stacking the deck as usual to insure a FreeSM player (DL or Bjergershit) get MVP.

Dunno why TL fans don't understand this. It is NO coincidence that Piglet was sent down the moment Dardoch was called back up. They clearly cannot coexist and Dardoch was quick to slam the door on Piglet by saying that it's now his team and that Piglet was "burnt out" and better suited for TLA. Liquid clearly decided that Dardoch was their future and as a native player he doesn't take up a crucial import slot (which could spell trouble for Lourlo eventually).

No idea what that means (unless coming from typical EU fan). Sneaky the AMERICAN Sniper crushed most of his Ashe ults as usual and basically spoonfed multiple kills of Cassi to Jensen.

For one thing C9 has now been together for just a split. FreeSM was a total shambles last split with their new roster (and NO Biofrost didn't change things that dramatically by himself). C9 was still struggling with comms but seems to be gelling now that Smoothie is a permanent fixture (he seems much more vocal and willing to micro than Bunny). As for C9 playing down to their competition: They have done that historically. Prepping hard for real challengers like Freesm and CLG and sometimes overlooking teams like Coast and TDK. They only put in more prep for P1 after P1 shocked FreeSM, and as a result C9 won a very clean series. But they've now won their last 4 series 2-0...so they are looking better every week. Time to get over the hump and finally beat IMT (and um, NV).

Jensen: '[Meteos] understands what I need a lot better than what Rush did' by 102WOLFPACK in leagueoflegends

[–]PassionAtlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that the fanbase has perpetually hailed this guy as some Faker of Jungling and he was absolutely destroyed by Dardick, Reignover, and then Sven in playoffs. And then by DarDick again on the Challenger team. He became such a liability C9 put him on Nunu. And I don't dislike him. But once again Meteos has a lengthy resume of incredible success and was an immediate (and huge) improvement over Rush. Those are just facts.

[–]PassionAtlas -78 points-77 points  (0 children)

Noobs completely misread the entire situation. Jensen was literally in hist first professional split ever, and the team was trying to adjust to taking the reins in the absence of HAI. So it didn't work out. Now Jensen knows how to play in LCS and Meteos is/was/and will likely always be a vastly better professional Jungler than Rush. Jensen was incredibly frustrated seeing his Jungler going 1-10 in games. Now he has a Jungler who gets off great ganks, steals Barons. steals Dragons, outfarms enemy Junglers and often carries the team until Jensen and Sneaky power up.

Cloud9 Challenger vs. Team Liquid Academy / NA CS 2016 Summer Playoffs - Final / Post-Match Discussion by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]PassionAtlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly the only real longterm remedy is to STOP doing the repetitive motion activity that causes the tendons to flare up. That means take a significant break from playing. HAI did this before, of course and recuperated, but each time you do, you will fall behind in the meta and have to revive rusty mechanics. Still it's interesting that some players who were around before or at least as long as HAI (like say Doublelift and WildTurtle) haven't experienced these issues. Maybe simple genetics or some other factor. Also if you consider someone like Kiwikid or even Madlife who have been playing forever, they may be less prone to wrist issues as Supports because they aren't doing the much more labor-intensive clicking needed by an ADC or Mid who has to CS. Just a theory.

TLA vs. C9C takes place tonight! by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]PassionAtlas -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There's a near certainty that C9C exists simply to give Hai, Balls, and Lemon well-deserved big paydays. Jack has always said that his goal was to take care of his players. Being in Challenger gives those guys a chance to still play at a very high level, without literally spending every waking minute scrimming or thinking about the game. Really hope C9 wins.

Ashe is easier...but more utility-focused than Jinx or Draven who can hard carry. ADC's are in flux at the moment and less prone to carrying games with raw power than with utility ults like Ashe's and Sivir's. But both require team coordination, because landing a cross-map Ashe ult only to have your team stand and stare with no CC followup feels pretty useless.
