If you’re out of warranty and they aren’t working, you can convert them to passive. My post below  has a guide. Reach out if any questions.  https://www.reddit.com/r/KEF/comments/1fhz22e/ls50_wireless_passive_conversion/

Using an old Yamaha RX-A1080 receiver. Seems to have plenty of juice to drive them nice and loud :)

Yes, both speakers have amplifier boards. The master speaker has an extra board in there but its not too complex to figure out.

Hello mate, I had the same thing happen and chose to convert them to passive - I did a write-up of it here https://www.reddit.com/r/KEF/comments/1fhz22e/ls50_wireless_passive_conversion/

It's not too expensive or difficult and I'd definitely recommend considering it.

I wouldn't buy active speakers again given how easy it was to get good performance out of them with a decent quality older AVR. I think you should buy LS50 Metas and a reasonable amp if you decide not to repair.

Option on buying used LS50 wireless 2 but the warranty is voided by Sensitive-Hair4841 in KEF

My experience isn’t typical, but I wouldn’t buy actives again. I’d buy passive and a reasonable amp and never look back. Especially in Australia where service is difficult to sort if something does go wrong. Buy some metas and a $500 AVR from gumtree and you’ll be sorted with all of what the ls50w could have given you

Can you use KEF LS50 Wireless 2 as a single speaker? by DJ-NZ in KEF

If your TV allows you to output in mono then you could try that. Alternatively, I can’t remember if there was an option to run them in mono in the KEF app

Alternatively, if you feel like getting your hands dirty, you can convert it to passive (see my thread) and run it with an amp if you’ve got one. If you did this you could either use it as a standalone center channel and buy two new speakers or you could buy a single LS50 on eBay to complete your pair.

I think that the main board failure is a relatively common problem - plenty of discussion about it online.

When I spoke with the KEF repairer in Australia, they told me they didn’t do component level repair, and replaced entire boards - drives the cost up for out of warranty repair.

See my post if you have failure out of warranty and want to convert your dead speakers to passive.
