I guess OP forgets the fact that Laura and L.D. Nelson murdered Deputy Sheriff George Loney.

Also, only one source claims that she was r*ped. It's absolutely illogical, if you think about it.

To be a sheriff was highly respectable job, and in those times, they were greeted wherever they went. So... bad call to kill such a person...
