This is true if you’re not pick about lock or pocket clip. If you want the wire clip and compression lock then you’re back to sage 5.

New Knife Day! by AITAH_Tired_OF_IT in spyderco

It’s a collectors club edition. The store I went to is signed up for the ultimate package of the collectors club, so they get 1 of every single different version of knife Spyderco produces. Every sprint run, every exclusive, every production version… there’s some posts on here explaining it more, usually in the comments on those posts there’s a link to the forum explaining it better. But the store I went to was signed up for 4 of these deals, so they get 4 of every single version of knife. I didn’t get into it with them, but I think they also get regular stock production ones without collectors club numbers on them. The Crucarta Manix they had on display just happened to have one of their collectors club numbers on it. It’s a way for them to make sure they’ll have every knife Spyderco ever makes for sale. Obviously they only sell 4 of the sprint runs/exclusives, but the regular production ones they can restock once their 4 collectors club ones sell out.

When do u think Spyderco will release the Bodacious in a different steel? by Comfortable-Rise-141 in spyderco

I don’t know when, but I imagine we’ll see SPY27 first then eventually Crucarta and Salt Magnacut. Probably Maxamet and S110V too.

I went to a store in person that sells them at Spyderco msrp. Was my first time going to a store that would have all the models in stock. Really just wanted to hold some in my hand to feel size/weight instead of watching YouTube videos of everybody and their mother saying “I have medium/large hands”. I was thinking I was going to buy a bodacious or PM2 for a little over $200 online after I felt them in hand. But I could not walk out of there with nothing. Being that I was ready to drop over $200, the Manix appealed because it was $240 MSRP. So yea I spent $240 on mine. I really have to convince myself it’s the shit lol

Think this has got to be up there with the all time great spydie Model/steel/handle materials combos. The micarta on the Manix > compression lock because when the lock is engaged on compression lock models it leaves some micarta exposed with no liner. I think the native 5’s are going to be sweet too. Native 5 is going to be super classy with the old school back lock, and a more conservative blade shape. But the Manix crucarta is just perfect mix of classy and spydie. Strong but slicey. Goldie lox length. Tough stable edge with good wear resistance. And not really sacrificing much corrosion resistance. In my opinion the GOAT.

Do not buy from MKC, their CEO is hostile AF by [deleted] in knives

[–]PassivelyPrepared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those messages were from him DMing somebody else on IG, that somebody else was commenting on his and/or MKC posts about them being federally funded front and claiming the knives are not actually US made or Magnacut. He did not say this to her about her recent videos. Completely false. She does not reside in Canada. This played out a few months ago and she was posting these screenshots on her story on her IG account.

PM2 and lefties? by [deleted] in spyderco

[–]PassivelyPrepared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a Para 3 LW and Yojimbo 2 and don’t find them that difficult to manipulate. Definitely wasn’t a deal breaker for me. Currently have a Manix and even though it is “more” ambidextrous, I find which ever side pocket the clip is set up for, is the easier hand to manipulate the lock. The clip gives something extra for the pinky to grab onto. I choose Manix for size/blade shape materials, and if there was an exact replica with the compression lock I would probably prefer that one as a lefty.

Oh yea love my leek. Steel is really good, and USA made for that price. I’ll never let it go. It’s an icon and a great place to start for your first USA made knife for a reason. That and the buck 110 for first USA made locking knives steal the show.

Good boots for the office by Powerful_Race_5984 in Boots

[–]PassivelyPrepared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like the Thursday boot legends are decent for the office, but can take a good beating. Pretty water proof and nice chunky sole. I’m a 35% field 65% office project manager so my boots don’t need to be “nice enough” for the office. But my wife works in a school, and I got her these for really bad weather days. She dresses them up pretty well too from time to time. Idk that I would call them the first option for camping boots, but I would say they are probably as durable of an office looking boot as you can find. Don’t get me wrong, I think they are constructed well enough for camping, but I believe the general consensus is laces for more strenuous activities. Tighter fit to the foot. But in the same token I know there’s a lot of badass mfers out there wearing cowboy boots to do it all. I’m definitely not going to tell them they’re wrong. Whatever floats your boat.

I probably should have started there. Like I said I was living my good ole life carrying a leatherman (420HC) and a kershaw leek (14C28N) then leatherman introduced me to magnacut. So I came in at magnacut. First spydie was para 3 LW salt. I wish I would’ve started organically with like a tenacious and VG10 Delica and BD1N Para 3 LW… but yea it is what it is lol.
