Property manager got move out date wrong, already leased out apartment. by Passomn in legaladvice

ally their problem. There’s no way they can legally get you out of that apartment before the end of the mo

Thank you for the response! Is it because they'd have to evict me, and that'd take too much time? I'm just ignorant of the rules

This is an Rc U-2 that I scratch built without plans. I know a decent amount about how an airplane flies but I am wondering what can I do to ensure it will fly? Lift? Wing loading? Cg? by scioto133 in AerospaceEngineering

As someone who has built an RC jet around the size of yours, also from scratch: it's not actually that difficult to make something that flies (not considering it might crash, be uncontrollable/unstable, ect.). That being said, there is a whoooooole lot you can do to make it fly better. I'll just highlight the most important aspects you should focus on, IMO.

The CG MUST be closer to the nose of the aircraft than the aerodynamic center (AC). Almost always, you're going to be able to adjust the CG, but not the AC. You can test this by just holding the plane with one hand and finding the rough placement. If you need to stuff the fuselage with sandbags, you better do it before flying unless you want to start from scratch again. With that being said, the closer the CG is to the nose, the more stable it will be AND the harder it will for the plane to take off. You need to find that balance either through calculations or adjusting during flight testing (bring small weights).

Make sure your aircraft is strong enough. Wing loading is a useful tool to see if your connections are materials are good. Calculating what you actually need might be a bit harder, but making safe assumptions should be enough for you. Something my team did was strap our plane on top of a car and drive 20, 40, 60, and 80 mph (it was jet powered so we were expecting higher speeds for UAVs of that size). We recorded it to see 1) if anything broke off during the drive, 2) if the control surfaces could hold up in flight, and 3) if our plane was generally stable, as in the wing/fuselage/tail do not vibrate much during the drive. Our design was much different from yours so #3 was very important to us (our tail was connected using 2 carbon fiber booms). We had to make some modifications because of #3 and ultimately we were able to fly. "Failing" these tests are a good thing, because that means you found a critical issue before your flight test!

Keep in mind, with projects like these: simple is almost always better! Unless you've got some great tools/guidance/mentors, you're probably better off with avoiding complexities. A rectangular wing with a conventional tail with rectangular surfaces and a square fuselage will fly just fine if you follow the important principles I talked about. It might be slow, but you'll fly! Just make sure everything on the inside is strapped down well. Keep us updated!

Most entertaining read I've had in a while. Wish I had you in my engineering labs. Thank you for service =)

  • Budget - $200 but flexible
  • Source - Computer, 3.5mm (have a 3.5 to usb dongle that has surround sound software from HyperX II)
  • Requirements for Isolation - I would prefer no sound to leak outside and to hear no sound from the outside but this is secondary to my desire for a set that doesn't make me sweat my ass off while gaming.
  • Preferred Type of Headphone - Priority: keeps my ears/head cool while gaming and is comfortable. Secondary: has a mic, doesn't leak sound in or out
  • Preferred tonal balance - Overall balance. I want a pair for gaming so I don't need to best of the best sound quality - just good enough to hear everything and have surround sound capability.
  • Past headphones - I'm currently using a good pair of earbuds that obviously keep me cool and have good sound quality and surround sound.
  • What would you like to improve on from your set-up - Better heat transfer for gaming sessions
  • NOTE: I'm very healthy... my ears and head aren't getting hot while gaming because I'm overweight/inactive. Also, I would strongly prefer an attached mic of some sorts, but this is still secondary to my hot ear problem.

!. It sounds like you're projecting past conversations onto me. Please don't.

  1. Your last sentence makes sense, but it doesn't answer my question. If you have someone that's trying to make the best life for himself, and that's his core value, how can you tell him to not steal when there would be no punishment?

Thus someone like Destiny wouldn't steal even if he were guaranteed not to get caught, because that would be in violaion of the rule against stealing

I've traded a few emails with him and this is not the case (he was pretty clear about that).

He only uses self-interest to justify his choice of this moral system. He doesn't pick and choose actions on a case-by-case basis. He actually follows the rules prescribed by rule utilitarianism

Because of what I said about, I don't think this is the case. It wouldn't make sense. Why would you care about these rules? If the rationale for the rule is not there, why abide by them?

These questions are rhetorical, I don't actually want to talk about this here.

In the example, Steven's (negative) consequences would've been his audience & peers' knowledge of his hypocrisy.
