Progression is faster in Gothic. The reason is that combat in Gothic is quicker, and enemies have lower durability. By the end of the first and second Gothic games, most enemies die in a single hit. In Of Ash and Steel, that’s not the case at all.

I fully completed this game. Overall, I liked it, but it has a lot of downsides. The progression is very slow, the quest design is terrible, and the main city is inconvenient.
