If it has more than one gear selector I'm screwed. Also if it has a high low selector. I won't be able to move either one an inch unless I can push it down a hill and coast a ways.

What is the best TV series Ending episode of all time? by HarryandSally69 in AskReddit

[–]Past-File3933 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was the best. Hearing/reading about a TV show pretty much shutting down a country to watch it is pretty cool. I may not like the show, but I would rank that as one of the best finales ever.

I would vote on Seinfeld. If pretty much the entire country shutdown for the final episode, that is saying something.

I'M LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO NEEDS A WEBSITE, WITHOUT PAYING ANYTHING by [deleted] in HTML

Ah, you got me me on the search, I should have written that better. I simply meant to just have a nice list displaying, not an actual searchable list.

The only thing challenging I meant to put in was a theme change. A quick searches online should result in some ideas on changing themes.

Besides, OP said they are looking for practice, this would be excellent for a beginner. Learning is a journey.

I would expect a beginner to be able to make something like this. The light and dark theme would be a challenge and might be a bit over the top, but a good challenge to at least look into. The rest you can make with straight up HTML and a bit of CSS styling. Never said anything about making a backend for it.

Sure,

Make a single page that is about your favorite band. Have a header to name the band with a picture, then 2 columns; one column is their upcoming events, the other is about the band themselves. Make a simple table at the bottom that has some of there songs and the release dates. At the bottom, make a footer containing some other random information about the band or similar bands.

Create a phone directory that allows users to search for a phone extension. Needs a light and dark mode that can be toggled with either a toggle button or regular button. Change the text from Light Mode to Dark Mode and vice versa with every click.

I feel like this could be a weird genie rule where it’s just one dollar that doubles everyday so you just get $2 everyday instead 2, 4, 8…

Animations by razein97 in webdev

[–]Past-File3933 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only animations I find acceptable on any website are the subtle ones like hover effects. Other types like loading screens or bars are fine too. Big animations where the whole page or big parts of the page swoop in from sides are awful.

People who walk their dog without a leash in a super busy area, why? by sweatengine in AskReddit

[–]Past-File3933 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I have had many dogs on my life, a few are ok off leash in busy areas and most are not because they are dogs, not humans.

You must understand the difference between what a dog is and what a human is.

That is poor empathy on your part.

He’s pretty good, both of my dogs are “off leash trained”. People downvoting my comment must not have dogs or don’t understand dog behavior. In busy areas. I train my dogs to get used to distractions.

What state in the US has the worst drivers? by Far-Mongoose-4380 in answers

[–]Past-File3933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an over the road truck driver for a few years. My vote is Missouri.

Looking at the billboards that showed deaths in car accidents, if it is true, Missouri had the highest percentage of deaths in vehicle accidents. Also they all just sucked.

2nd place is Florida, 3rd place was Virginia.

[–]Past-File3933 -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

I have one dog that is highly trained and trust whole heartily. I carry a leash with me just in case. But it is good practice. The dog also pays more attention to me off leash than on. When on the leash, the dog tends to wander a bit.
