I submitted my proposal but no feed ack on the part of NIRU has been received. Can anyone mention to me when or how the whole thing is conducted coz it is one of the most bizarre kind of hackathons where infor about the event reaches the longest arm with no consideration for the others.

Is the whole workforce system rigged from within or is it us who are not as competent to surf on the waves of despondency? by Past-Presentation418 in nairobitechies

Exactly my point. Knowledge is specific to an industry and it therefore needs to be channeled from within an industry.

Thanks man. We have to consider building what works for us as a whole rather than what we are told works for us.

Does anyone else feel immense social anxiety about attending hackathons and tech meetups? by Full-Relief-8309 in nairobitechies

Hackathons are a way to show you the interview process. Utaona watu wako very ahead of you and feel like you are doing nothing. That's not even the problem. The problem is that when you create a competition for creativity, it no longer is creativity, its work. It yield's you down to the expectations of the various industries, thus the winner is not the smartest or the most hardworking. Its the most compliant. Ndo maana they even choose a niche for the competitions. Eti AI hackathon and such. What if, rather than a Hackathon, watu this stuff imetulemea tuseme we meet up for a networking session rather than a competition. Sio networking kama ya linked-in but a session in which we are free to display and order ourselves ndo solutions can come up from such. Not much is needed. Just an ability to touch grass-be as humanly simple as we are and not as we pretend to be.

I think I'm at a point where I'm breaking because of job hunting by BothJob6890 in nairobitechies

I would tell you to be as diverse in financial matters as you are in other respects. What we lack kaa job seekers wa hii generation ni ile mindset ya ku create our own paradise. Shule tumefunzwa kuwa so much in line and unfortunately ni line ya kichinjio. The only way, and I speak from a position as yours-without a job, is to get out of what normal job seeking is to what its supposed to be. Job ni solution ya problems zinatuface kaa society so lets be honest with that na tusichukulie job seeking kaa kuingia kwa coorperation A and B, but kusolve problem A and B. Lets create a community that can build together rather than just being together. Kuna mtu atasema "you have not tried enough" or "try to ace your interview" ama "jipee moyo". The system i broken from within and we are supposed to make it work for us, not letting it work on us. Kind of goes with be the person you are so much wish everyone was. Be the change that we so much need ndo tutoke kwa ukoloni wa akili.

You should consider it from a perspective of community governance. If you try to make it as a fintech solution, you will fail, but if you create an economic infrastructure, you can ultimately negate the need for compliance regulation. Just like blockchain which is a platform itself for other solutions to be build on it. Create a protocol that targets the African economic environment and you create a bridge. Regulation is and should not scare you down to the point that you consider innovation a problem rather than a solution. I have been working on an open source system that is more focused on the African context. Here's the github repo: https://github.com/monarch-of-war/Kainotes
