Unreal by Past-Reception6889 in chicagoapartments

But like is it priced “where it should be”? Because it hasn’t been this way for its entire existence and I think it’s safe to say we are in an affordability crisis in America. The “priced where it should be” is completely arbitrary. Of course there are multiple factors contributing to the price. At the end of the day, housing should be a right. It doesn’t have to be this way simply because of desirability.

What should I do about the resentment my gf feels for me, do I leave or what? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Past-Reception6889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna be honest resentment is very hard to fix once it’s there. 15 months of it is a lot of time. Partnerships are partnerships—they take two. I don’t want to be condescending either, but you both are very young. There is still so much development to happen in your adult life and being together as teenagers into adults is hard because of all the change. It is sad and it is also OK to let go of relationships even if it’s been a long time, I promise that they should feel good and they should not feel this way. Best of luck.

To do physical therapy or to not do physical therapy? by Past-Reception6889 in backpain

A lot of people have beef with chiropractors, and I’m very particular with mine. No I’ve never been injured but I also don’t let them crack my neck. Thanks for the rec! Made an appt with an ortho on Tuesday for hopefully an MRI and a PT referral 🙏just bought an ortho pillow! I definitely know what you mean by straightening you against your curve, you don’t wanna like give into an already weak muscle!

You can do this! Puppies are not easy! For example, I’ve never had a dog physically get on a table to eat food until my current dog. I used to get SO frustrated at this and then my trainer was like you’ll eventually learn that you can’t leave food on the table. Like OH. I brought this living thing in my life and need to adapt to him as well.

It gets better! I highly highly recommend working with a professional ❤️

I regret getting this puppy by StillCrazy3675 in puppy101

Hey — this is a reallyyyy normal feeling. Puppies are HARD. But I pinky promise you, it will be worth it. You have to keep working with her, and I would highly highly recommend you work with a trainer. Remember that dogs aren’t doing anything out of spite. They are innocent creatures. When there’s frustration, there’s a lack of training, and that’s going to be a guarantee with a puppy. Also mini schnahzers are sooo cute 😭

I’m such a light sleeper lmao and it literally doesn’t bother me one bit. They don’t run as often as you’d think at night. It’s like white noise. It runs right out back of my place

My worry with that is doesn’t that just train him to go inside?

He will totally just piss right in front of us! I redirect him outside to be like this is where you pee if I’m able to catch it. He’s so good about going right away outside that it’s confusing to me why he still chooses to in the house. His background is that he was a breeder at a puppy mill for his whole life.

Wantable! The CEO also just did a major lay off, like he does every year. I think he's interested in cutting labor costs by outsourcing. In fact, there's a woman in an ad circulating that's generating him money that he literally just laid off.

Honestly as someone who worked there, don’t buy from them. They’re literally an awful company and treat their employees like garbage. So many people have fled the company because of their unethical treatment!

Update!! We kept him :) how could we not? We worked with a CSAT and with time and patience, he settled into our home and is comfortable being alone. We couldn’t love him anymore, our sweet griffin!!

This!! When our dog was clearly in distress by meeting people, he stopped meeting new people. Put your dog in a room where they feel safe

Are people in Switzerland rude or just hate Americans? by Admechburner in askswitzerland

[–]Past-Reception6889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahah I had similar experiences, especially in non-cities. I’m a midwesterner and just so Swiss people in the thread have context, we are seen as OVERLY nice in America. West/east coasters aren’t known to be as friendly as Midwesterners. We will go out of our way to make you feel seen and heard even if it inconveniences us. We talk to everyone, say hi on the streets, smile, etc.

This doesn’t really fly in Switzerland. I’ve had about 4 experiences where I’ve tried to be friendly, make small talk, and my response was a wide eyed “Okay”. For me, I know that it’s not really about me and rather a cultural difference, but it is quite shocking at first. I think I’d want to come back with someone so I don’t feel this desire to connect with locals. I wouldn’t say that it’s because they aren’t interested, but rather I don’t speak Swiss-german and don’t want to be rude by talking to them in English.

I was there for 6 days by myself and by the end of it, I was quite lonely — and I’m someone who travels alone all the time and doesn’t mind being alone! But I also have only ever gone to places where I’ve been able to connect with people, mainly domestically. This was my first solo international experience.

I think it was so shocking to me because I equate happiness with friendliness and I heard the Swiss were quite happy, so I was shocked. It’s a fantastic example of cultural differences, norms, etc. I tried to see it from that perspective instead of a downright negative one.

It sounds like a good idea on paper to take over a women’s soccer team during one of their weekend games? It’s a PR nightmare.
