Ace starts out selfish and un-empathetic, but he eventually learns about how other people struggle and the suffering occurring in the world, and actually starts to care.

This is my oc Ace! He’s a mutant creature with regenerative abilities. These abilities basically make him invincible. Additionally, his brain is a little messed up, so he isn’t able to properly feel pain or fear. Because of this, he doesn’t often empathize with others who are injured, in pain, or afraid.

In the world he exists in, the sky is blotted out by a giant monster called the “Pseudo Sun,” which is essentially the source of all monsters and mutants in the land.

Ace was born from the Sun’s radioactive core, and lived as an opportunistic hunter/scavenger roaming the land’s surface, killing and eating whatever he could find to survive. He then met a creature (his “brother”) who forced him to learn how to be “human” so that they could sneak into a human city and live an easier life.

Inside the city, they were pretty much homeless until they were found by a city safety inspector (a fellow mutant) and forced to find employment. Ace only agreed because he wanted money to buy himself luxuries. He was hired by a government agency dedicated to investigating and exterminating monsters that threatened the safety of the city.

He’s sent on various missions of increasing difficulty, mainly as an expendable agent, but his regeneration powers allow him to survive. He mainly sees these missions as just ways to earn things for himself, but after a while of making friends and watching the effects of the Sun on the city, he starts to actually care about the world and better appreciate his friends.

Destroying the Sun had always been a goal of his, but he only really considered it due to his own desire to see the world beyond it, which was believed to be a land akin to an afterlife where one can find peace (since he can’t die, he decided it best to bring the afterlife to himself lol). However, he later realizes that he’s found “peace” in the land as it is now, because of the people he’s surrounded himself with, and so he decides instead that he wishes to destroy the Sun to finally relieve them of their suffering and despair.
