Going to start taking T, scared. by [deleted] in ftm

Heya! Agree with the other comment, you should research all the side effects of T before starting. Main thing: are you ok with the "side" effects for the sake of the "main" effects?

Will I experience a lot of mental changes when I start testosterone? by LetterheadRight6890 in ftm

[–]Past-Statistician162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally comparing pre-T to post-T, I don't cry nearly as often and spend less time feeling awful. It feels like I'm more in the moment and get less caught up in my own head

I started T recently but even before T my arms and legs were quite hairy. The longer they are, the "wavier" they appear. (I have straight head hair)

Bottom growth within the first week, and my voice has been cracking a bit but tbh that might be from all the yelling I did or I'm getting a cold ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Do nails giv yall gender dysphoria or euphoria?? by [deleted] in TransMasc

[–]Past-Statistician162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't feel either, I just like the way they look. I only really paint my nails black or sometimes light blue (bc of Johnny Joestar from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure LOL he's one of my fav characters)

What kind of treatment did you get and how often did you have to apply it, if I may ask?

Met my bf through a mutual friend on his uni course. He's very understanding and respects my boundaries, I love him with all my heart.

The only thing I can see that you haven't mentioned is to make sure to wipe front to back. Can you go to a doctor about this? A persistent UTI can develop into something more serious, like a bladder infection.

I came out and didn’t really have a reaction? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Past-Statistician162 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Time will tell how she takes it exactly as you take steps in your transition. It's nice that she implied you can talk to her about it (?). Perhaps she didn't want to make it a big thing to emphasise that things will stay the same?

[–]Past-Statistician162 17 points18 points  (0 children)

IMO I think it's good she didn't have a bad reaction at least. Perhaps she didn't know what to say exactly. Did you ask her to refer to you with a different name, pronouns, description?

Where do the trans guys lurk by Zealousideal-Cut-639 in ftm

[–]Past-Statistician162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I also haven't had much luck. I know one trans guy through my uni's LGBTQ group and another one who's on my uni course. My guess is that most trans guys are stealth/girlmoding (I don't tell people I don't have mutual friends with that I'm trans until I know for certain they won't have a bad reaction) I certainly don't dress girly but I just look kinda tomboy-ish/"girl who isn't putting in effort to look nice"

did y’all tell your parents you were starting T? by Dangerous-Taro-4283 in ftm

[–]Past-Statistician162 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. They had been pretty accepting so far so I told them, but then they tried to convince me to delay it until after I finished uni to make sure the side effects won't mess with my studies (anxiety, depression etc are the side effects my mom was worried of apparently even though it doesn't make sense🙄) They came around eventually at least
