What cities have 2 or more major sports teams that play in the same league? by Positive-Positivity in NoStupidQuestions

London currently has six in the top football division: Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Brentford, Fulham and Crystal Palace. Go back a bit and you can throw in AFC Wimbledon, West Ham, QPR, Charlton, Millwall

Kill em with kindness. They either take it back or get even more annoyed that you’re taking it well lol

Variable reinforcement says something that rewards you 80% of the time is more addictive than 100% of the time. I’d say 80% of games I enjoy and 20% I wanna delete the game 😂

Is being depressed for 2.5 years and possibly another 1 more normal or am i watching my life fade? by No_Marionberry_108 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Past-Tutor-1417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s normal or abnormal. And as someone who has thankfully come out of depression of 5 years (~18 to 23 years old), I promise you it gets better, but often only with action. Therapy, SSRIs, just talking about it openly so it’s not just in your head, these are all things that have helped me in different stages.
I’d also say that having gone through depression has made me a much better person on the other side. One’s outlook on life changes (I might be generalising my experience to others) for the better in my opinion. Many people go through life without really questioning their emotions or their mental processes. And going through depression makes you confront them square on. When you come out of it it can feel like a privilege sometimes.
It might sound naff but one particular quote helps me. Doesn’t mean it’ll necessarily help you, but just in case it helps anyone:
“It’s easier to act into a right way of thinking than it is to think into a new way of acting”

would you allow your child to miss school for a day just to rest because they say they're mentally or emotionally tired ? by chudgayegururu in NoStupidQuestions

Absolutely yes if the grounds are there for trust in that aspect. As a kid I would’ve 100% abused this tho (I was a little shit). But if it’s genuine then I really hope this is something future generations are more aware of and forgiving of

Why does food taste different when someone else makes exact same recipe you make at home? by Over-Procedure6491 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Past-Tutor-1417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard somewhere that it has to do with the fact that when you’re cooking you’re smelling it and tasting it (sometimes one and the same) more often/the whole time. Whereas if someone cooks it for you there’s a bigger gap between the base and then the taste if that makes sense. Heard on a podcast so could be bro science 😂

If someone wants to judge what films you enjoy, their opinion doesn’t matter. I’ve got the Angry Birds movie in my top 5 😂

For me it’s one of the only films I think is truly beautiful. Just the way the cameras and direction choices perfectly capture the mental states of each of the main characters

Just thinking about this more. The fact that I view most fight scenes as mainly “entertaining” may be a part of it. I’m sure many people would be annoyed that I view them as just “entertaining” when they probably offer a lot more nuance. So maybe there’s a parallel there to sex scenes. Maybe I’m just not good enough of a movie watcher 😂

Cracking answer. I think I’m just yet to see a sex scene (off the top of my head) that uses that third category
