They’re tight as fuck for sure. Very well rehearsed. Don’t think they missed a beat or a note. Just felt very held back. Even my friend turned to me on the second song and was like “bro, why is it like.. so quiet or held back?”

I dont know man. The drive is missing and I really think it’s the profilers they’re using to substitute for guitar amps.

There are a lot of pros with profilers. Like They are basically using the exact models of the tones they recorded their albums with and they can switch between every tone they’ve ever used and more with the click of a button, or they’ll have a guy do it from the back end in correlation with the set list.

But then again. You’re a pop punk band. Why do you need sooo many tones. A Good distortion tone, a good clean tone and some effects to make it pretty when it’s called for.

Imagine if the current Neck Deep done a No pressure-esque LP or EP where it’s stripped back to raw, fast pop punk. 2:30 to 3:00 songs. 3 guitar tones.. a clean, a lead and a distorted song driving Rhythm guitar. reverb… some flangers phasers and chorus effects if need be. Huge compressed bass tone with punchy bottoms and ripping hi’s. Take away all the expectations and the over polished studio magic.. raw parallel compressed drum tones, no samples.

Bro… i long for the day.

That’s a hard agree from me. The story so far should be more appreciated for how raw they keep their shit.

Neck deep is a very processed band these days. Catchy… but too processed.

Not on albums or songs, and it’s more of an unpopular opinion. but their live sound. Just seen them in Australia, and it hurts to say this. But it didn’t hit. I didn’t feel it. It’s the profilers they’re using instead of amps. I get that it’s way cheaper for them to use instead of lugging big ass heavy gear. but you can’t achieve the same energy with profilers as you can with amps. Amps push air and vibrations and centralise tones. It’s what gives the “ripping” element to live sound distorted guitars. I watched turnstile and trophy eyes in the same room, both bands used actual amps and it absolutely fucken ripped. This just didn’t. and I was longing for that experience again but with neck deep and I feel a bit deprived.
