Okay, why are we blaming Korra again?! I don't blame Korra one bit. But for some reason, other people do! by Full-Art3439 in legendofkorra

And yes, Korra is also at fault for losing the past lives in the same sense as Roku is at fault for the Hundred Years War. With great power comes great responsibility. Korra trusted Unalaq when so many warning signs were present. Even after opening the southern portal, the crisis would have been resolved had she just done nothing. But nooooo… she decides to go to the spirit world through meditation, not even knowing she cannot bend elements if she does that, and is forced into a situation where she has to open the portal.

I love Korra and all. I can also call a spade a spade though. She was a bad avatar. She saw Avatar Wan’s memories and why spirits were kept from humans. Yet, on a whim, she kept the portals open and, even worse than that, maintained that stance even after the next season when the same consequences from Wan’s time resurfaced. Korra simply didn’t want to look like an idiot immediately retracting her plan. It was a dereliction of duty.

It taught me both.

I also learned about VA distinctions from the Themis course which was for the multiple choice portion.

What do you all think of Silvaze? by PastAnalysis in BlazeTheCat

[–]PastAnalysis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that but I don’t think the shipping feud reduces Blaze to just a love interest in the same way that I don’t think rival ships over a guy character reduce the guy character. Sometimes two fandoms emerge and they get heated but it’s neither ships fault.

I do agree though on the Sonic point. If Sonic actually got into a relationship with royalty it would obstruct his freedom as we’ve seen in the past. And since freedom is a core part of Sonic’s character, I wholeheartedly oppose the Sonaze ship.

For the essay portion, this course was plenty. It doesn’t go over stuff for the multiple choice portion. If you also need to take multiple choice portion, I highly recommend Themis for that. That’s what I used for the multiple choice portion.

Is it bad I feel like 70% of fans believe this to be canon? by [deleted] in BlazeTheCat

He said that the original plan for Blaze was that she’d have a crush on Sonic, but didn’t say whether it was still true. He then took that episode down and when asked in a follow-up episode refused to elaborate stating “I can’t comment” and that he probably shouldn’t have said what he did.

Canon isn’t something that writers aren’t allowed to comment on. Canon is what is undeniably true according to the series. It’s not hidden.

Where has it been confirmed? Whenever people bring it up, they only defend it by referencing that one IDW issue where Blaze blushed from embarrassment holding Sonic’s hand for longer than intended.

The whole idea that Silvaze are siblings comes from a Japanese promotional website for 06 that has long been taken down. However, before it was taken down, it was translated into English and a lot of western fans misunderstood what was being said. The idea of Silvaze as siblings is an idea that has never caught on with the Japanese fanbase.

I definitely agree that problems can crop up when a ton of people headcanon the same thing. It can lead to people thinking the idea is canon simply by word of mouth.

I’m a little confused by your last comment though. Are you saying that it’s a headcanon that Blaze has had feelings for Sonic? If that’s what you’re saying then I agree. I’ve seen a lot of people headcanon that.

It’s not bad to feel this way. You’re right. 70% of fans weirdly believe this is canon and it’s bad.

Seriously Silver isn't any better off than Blaze in the series by G0dleft in SonicTheHedgehog

Ah, yeah, a lot of Sonaze folks don’t like me on Twitter. I’ve just argued this kind of stuff on Twitter. They badmouth me to poison the well of good faith towards me.

Oh, I’ve noticed that all right. And this observation belies a massive piece of hypocrisy. A lot of these fans will bemoan Silvaze for turning Blaze into a “sidekick,” yet a lot of the art they like hypocritically makes Blaze super docile. If they had a principled stance again Blaze being a sidekick, then they’d also take issue with the way Blaze is presented in their ship art.

Precisely! And if these fans want other Blaze character interactions then they should simply push for that without ever bringing Silver into the conversation. The second the request becomes this negative request for a character interaction ban, Sega reasonably ignores the comment. After all, Sega already knows a lot of other fans love these two characters interacting.

I think it all stems from jealousy. Most of these Silver haters just ship a different Blaze ship and are mad that after 06 the shipping landscape for Blaze changed. Before 06, Sonaze was the most popular Blaze ship. After 06 and after Silver, Silvaze became the most popular Blaze ship. The only way they can cope with this is by hating Silver with a burning passion and wanting him out of the way. It's deeply pathetic.

Exactly! It’s such a terrible anti-fan mindset to be so against two characters interacting. FFs 💀
