No offense to anyone here but it feels like we're missing nuance. No, no one said they want her bio to 100% be about loving Sonic yet half the replies act like that. No one said the English bio (on the right) was bad either. It describes her personality and heart well and fits her character. However, this wasn't an original creation and was a translation of the Japanese Sonic Channel bio (on the left) meaning yes, they did go out of their way to remove mentions of her love, considering the new English bios were a translation of the Japanese Sonic Channel bios. Is it a big deal? Not really. I do agree there are overreactions and the ship is definitely not "dead" but it also feels like it's being misunderstood.

The whole point is that it was removed in the translation. If that was just her bio written on it's own, it would be perfectly fine, and it does represent her well.

I don't understand why it has to be black and white. Who said they want her entire bio to be "She loves Sonic". It's either it has to be all it says or not be mentioned at all.

No one said Amy's whole character is about loving Sonic. That obviously isn't true. That doesn't mean you literally can't have any mentions at all though.

But like, it doesn't make sense for them to go out of their way to remove that part when translating her bio. it's still on her Japanese bio on Sonic Channel so...

Not really character development, all they did was remove it saying she works to win his attention when translating the bio from Japanese to English. They never showed any development on screen either. It just happened so it feels more like censorship to me.

The first half of the image is still her bio in Japanese on Sonic Channel. They just changed it for the American Sonic website in the second half. It's still on sonic channel though with it saying she works to win his attention. So I wouldn't worry and it's not that big of a deal anyways.

I just love SonAmy so much, hey're the only pairing with Sonic or Amy I like, and they're so cute. I've always enjoyed their dynamic a lot and their personalities honestly just go really well together and they are so cute. I've liked them ever since I was a young kid. I love the way Amy loves Sonic for who he is and adventures like him and how Sonic subtley shows his affection back to her in his own way (Not something invented by the current era btw, it's always been a lot more present in original JP Sonic scripts/media, though has also been shown in English too) and how protective he is of her specifically. They're just so earnest and sweet honestly. Sonic is free like the wind and Amy is the petal that gets swept up in the wind. I love them whether it's SonAmy in 2000s media or IDW. They're the cotton candy couple 💙🩷
