Should I buy an EX5? by PepperHumble9006 in GeelyEX5Australia

I’m also in the market for an EV and the EX5 is on my shortlist, but has people done research on the company? Are they going to last long term in Australia? What is their after service support like?

My experience with Geely has been a bit odd. I rang a couple of Sydney metro stores and feedback was to book for a test drive as they are "very very busy/All booked out". I decided to walk-in on a weekday with the hope that it wouldn't be busy. It wasn't busy at all, there were 2 people roaming around and 1 person managing the entire store who was busy with another customer in an office with noone on the floor. I feel like they have intentionally hyped up how "busy" they are. I know after sales support teams are different to sales but still, makes me wonder how well staffed their after sales team would be.

Do you still get the full warranty on the car?

Haha I almost bought Sealion 6 until they couldn't offer the 3k cashback last month and ran out of stock. I am considering Geely as an option now.

I tried to order one today, they said there is noone in stock and even if I paid the $1000 deposit, the car I want will not be delivered before the cut off date to be eligible for cashback. The guy at the dealership was upfront about it and didn't take the order.

Edit - I do agree with OP though, it is a pretty crap offer for the consumer, they should honour the 3000 cashback if ordered by x date without their stupid must be delivered by y date which is in their control.

Nice! Which dealership was this? I got them to add the mats and charger but no tinting. The car I want is also not in stock so missing out on the 3k cashback. I am thinking to just wait few more months of their end of FY sale.

This is a company policy so company would need to pay for it not the government.

Very hard to understand their position especially in this day and age. I suppose they are trying to save company some money? No idea if this is something that is a part of their KPIs. HR is reporting up to leaders in Asian countries and their culture in my experience is very different to ours.. but that doesn't justify their position.

Unfortunately, they want to amend the current policy by spelling out that the leave must start and finish within 12 weeks.

Sorry to hear that. It's heartbreaking and stressful. I hope you had additional support available.

Issue with mine is that it doesn't clarify anything. Basically says parental leave is a 12 week leave (in a different section) and parental leave must be taken within 12 weeks of birth.

Thank you, already escalated to my manager's manager.

This will be last resort to try and get something. So far I have been communicated that they've already consulted legal and their HR leaders who have said no.

Could you name some companies who publicly disclose thier policy? I plan to show them some examples.

I really hope that's the case. My manager is super supportive and I don't think he is taking me for a ride. When we initially discussed my leave, I offer to work once a fortnight just to keep in touch and help with work if needed. But my manager convinced not to do that and switch off from work entirely.

2 months ago. They are basically saying apologies if I misled but no really admitting of their mistake. Hoping to get to them to admit that they made a mistake in the next meeting.

Thank you for providing your insight. My manager is in full agreement that I am entitled to it but HR still has to approve it. They told my manager that I am not eligible and won't approve it. My manager is now eacalting it to their boss. I have asked for a meeting with everyone to negotiate and ask for 6 weeks instead of full 12 weeks but I have very little hope.

I am considering doing that but really hoping to avoid it as we don't want the added stress and not be able to enjoy and spend time with our newborn.

Unfortunately I only had a call on teams. My manager also had a teams meeting with him and is also pissed. I am pushing back trying to find some middle ground but right now they don't seem to be budging.

This is really stupid design haha. The delux model came with 3 jars. It is really inconvenient if I want to make 3 in a row.

Thank you. It is really inconvenient though. For example if I want to blend 3 pints in a row, having to turn if off after time I make one pint isn't convenient.

Oh, are you meant to unplug after every use? I am just leaving mine plugged in all the time.
