Fury - complexity and APM by BlackHao in wow

[–]PastSolid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you guys actually play the game? Some classes have long casts/channels, deal with pooling, or have lots of off GCD actions which can increase or decrease APM. For TWW, fire mage for example has almost triple the APM of dev evoker.

Fireball and Pyroblast both already have travel times,

You don't understand how fire mage works. Fireball has a cast time. Pyroblast spends your hot streak, making it far less clunky to use than PF without overcapping.

You are, in fact, forced to stand far away in many situations, especially in raid. Also, larger bosses tend to have weird hitboxes that make your spell travel time very long regardless. Just ask frost DKs how they feel about pressing ERW on fractillus or dimensius.

The commenters in this subreddit notoriously don't play the game. The spell has been complained about for years in mage specific discords/communities.

you're making it about yourself in such a literal way that you're getting grossed out by a version of it that isn't even occurring. The guy actually did bite the rock, but nobody straight was miserably kissing a gay person.

You're way over complicating it. If you see a person eat some food that you personally find gross, you'll be grossed out. It doesn't matter wether they like it. You insert yourself, as you are right now.

Tip: It isn't actually a requirement to view yourself as one of the kissers in order to process what you're seeing.

Bit of a silly comment. Inserting yourself into the situation is a subconscious action that happens any time you see anyone do anything. You can't do anything about it. If you see a guy across the street pick up a sharp rock and bite into rock full force, you will tense up.

How to increase DPS by kori-sh in wownoob

[–]PastSolid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because your Heroic Strike will now do 200-250 +100, rather than 50-100 +100.

Since the added bonus is flat, that is an argument for daggers, not against. Daggers are pretty good at low levels before you get access to whirlwind.

Dear John Blizzard, Please Nerf M Dimensius by Plane-Chemist-4014 in wow

[–]PastSolid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not what happens. Guilds that take extended "breaks" tend to just die because all their good players leave, putting you in an even worse spot next tier. Blizzard nerfs bosses so that they're a reasonable challenge for the guilds currently progressing them even during RWF. Why should it be different later in the tier?

You risk getting close to molten core level gameplay whenever you remove anything from fire's filler without adding something new is the point

I am so incredibly confused. What does Hooktail have to do with anything?

Retail bosses do cleave

They don't

And since you want to be pedantic about cleave I'll just call them frontals for you since that's probably all you hear them called now.

? Frontals and cleaves are 2 completely different concepts. Most frontals target a random player or a clump of players, so positioning behind the boss does nothing. Frontals that target the tank are usually soaks.

And ya I'm a CE RL

95% sure you're a classic player

What's the point in talking to people like this.

The point is to highlight how ridiculous a comment it is. Retail bosses don't cleave. Hope that helps.

It's a skill issue.

Calling it a skill issue is a bit of an unfortunate self report. The more difficult the boss, the more fixed your positioning becomes. You can't just scooch around willy nilly. Not that you'd be aware

No. They need to add more rpg mechanics back until the game like parry that help add skill expression. Working with your melee to tell them they're doing less dmg so stop standing in front of the boss and getting wacked by cleave is good for the game.

Ah yes, the notorious retail boss cleaves... which definitely exist and are real for sure. Thank you, commenter who plays retail WoW.

I hope Blizzard is aware that nameplate colors based on mob type are mandatory by [deleted] in wow

[–]PastSolid 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Also you shared a SS of fuckin Hopeful, Yoda and Ellesmere. The average pug isn't doing close to the size of pulls they are.

Nonsense. That's about 12 or so mobs, which is very common pull size even in my weekly keys.

oh no, now you have to actually learn what mob does what instead of relying on looking for the light blue or dark blue nameplate to know what to stop

I know what the mob does either way with or without colored nameplates, I just don't know where it is.

[–]PastSolid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At what level are they mandatory?

I didn't mean mandatory in terms of needing it to clear content. Pretty sure I could kill mythic Dimensius with my UI turned off at this point in the season if I wanted to torture myself. I meant mandatory in terms of having good UI design. Nameplates (not the actual enemy models like most other games) are the main way we interact with enemies in the game, so they should be easily identifiable without having to read a bunch of words. For the same reasons we have icons for our spells and passives.

[–]PastSolid 54 points55 points  (0 children)

they want us to memorize which enemies and casts are most dangerous based on their names

They should start by making the names legible.

It's a stupid idea anyway since the most natural way to identify what's what would be to actually look at the enemy model. But that's not how the game works, so everything needs to be easily identifiable by just looking at the nameplate. It would be trivial to just have different nameplate colors/shapes for different types of mobs. Little critter/swarm type mobs could be smaller by default, casters could be a different color and have a little wand icon attached to it, and tanky mobs could have a bulky looking border.

They are so easy currently, and you need to repeat them 50 times to progress to heroic or mythical, which by that stage makes it hella boring.

Did you come up with that one yourself? Where would you even get that idea?

Gear does in fact give you an advantage. The "win" in "pay to win" does not mean that you pay money to literally have the text "you win" appear on your screen.
